Consensus seems that Laird should come straight back into the side. Do we think he will keep his spot? And I would imagine the chances of being sub are high, considering he's coming off an injury?
We're playing GWS, so we might give VB a go at sub, or maybe another more senior player, just to give them a rest. He only missed one week, so hopefully his fitness is fine, maybe 30-40% chance of being sub

gday guys, im curious to know what brodie smiths role has been the past 2 weeks, and weather it change during the season? guess i mostly Want to know if he plays just defence or if he moves into the midfield. Cheers guys

Jacobs just appears to be in terrible form, no excuse really as I don't believe it's the new ruck rule that's stopping him from winning the centre clearance tapouts or doing simple things around the field.

As for Smith, he's been playing in the backline and going by the pre season articles before his injury I don't think that will change this year. Many of the Crow's supporters want him to be pushed into the midfield/wing yet everything he/Sanderson said in the pre season suggested he'd be spending another year in the backline.

Who will be your likely sub this week V GWS? Laird, Kerridge, Lyons?
Would one be likely to be subbed off/on for the other?

Just wondering if Crows fans expect Brad Crouch to come straight back into the side? I've stuck with him through this injury because I think he's got as good scoring potential as just about any rookies and could easily see him climb to 300-350K in value, but it's making it tough having 1 midfield rookie who isn't going anywhere currently price wise.

If he's healthy he should play every week, and in theory this is the last week he should miss through injury, but there is every chance they will want him to play a game in the SANFL next week. He should come straight back into the team after that though

Sando said in a press conference last week that he would miss the weekend and then come back via a week in the SANFL. He is very much best 22 though, so expect to see him back in the Crows side in round 9 and stay there for the rest of the year, barring further injury.

Kerridge obviously did very well last week, but wondering what is his role? ie. Is he a possible tagger? I read in your pre-match thread he might go to Jack Steven...

I'm a big fan of Crouch (and basically anybody that goes in hard to get contested ball), but Kerridge I don't know so much about.
Cheers fellas!

He didn't really play a full-on tagging role in previous games, but he certainly tried to run around with a couple of quality midfielders, restricting Griffin in his game against WB and getting absolutely shredded by Juddy vs Carlton. Last couple of weeks he's moved forward, beginning with the Hawthorn game. He managed to keep Birchall pretty quiet, while kicking a couple of goals. GWS don't really have any players who need a tag, so he just sort of ran around the field. He's unlikely to come near his score against most opposition, though he could average 70-ish if he keeps up his form. Given the sheer number of midfielders we have in our squad, it wouldn't surprise me if he played most of the game as a forward, and he is named in the forward pocket. Maybe a defensive forward role on one of the rebounding defenders.

It would probably be better for him dreamteam wise if he stayed forward, as he is a decent long kick and has shown he can kick a few goals. When he tried running with Judd in round 5 he only had 3 touches... I think its probably too late to pick up Kerridge, given that he is already around 200k.

Yeah he's been mainly tagging/playing as a defensive mid. Don't expect him to consistently rack up big scores like he did against GWS. I see him as averaging about 70 (edit: great minds think alike mcday) or so but his job security seems pretty good so not the worst pick I guess.

Thanks guys. So his average is about 70, and can inflate with a couple goals. That actually isn't bad for a rookie, so I'm backing him in. Had to deal with ridiculous injury last week so couldn't get him in, but I think he's got a couple price rises left :)

Similar to Kerridge, what are the thoughts on Lyons?

He's named on the extended bench this week - is he a likely to hold his place in the team?

He will play and most likely avoid the vest given his performance last week.

Probably worse job security but IMO much better scoring potential than Kerridge. Inside midfielder, ball magnet, clearance king.

Cheers, something to keep in mind when I have a look at my team tonight.
