Fair enough re Thomas, I haven't watched him close enough or often enough to make an informed opinion

The Gys?

surely you jest?

They're the best 3 players on that list. There's noone even remotely decent left out there - the one great DFA we grabbed already.

The rest aren't worth it. Cross and leave the rest.

Matt Thomas is garbage.
Lower worth a punt.
Callinan.
The Gys.

That'd be it.
So hold on a sec.. You would rather Gysberts who has the strength of a 15 year teenager that goes with his pathetic attitude and poor work ethic over Matt Thomas who is one of the most dedicated and hard working footballers going around?
Plus Callinan who is 30 years old and far worse then Shannon Byrnes??!
Wowee thank god your not in charge of our football club because this truly shows your lack of knowledge on certain players going around.

Worst post of the year.

I admittedly was interested in Gys about a week ago, but that was before we got Cross, Michie, Tyson, Vince etc. I do hope Gys gets his act together but that won't be for the MFC in 2014.

I don't want any. Cross and the draft would do me just fine.

I didn't say I wanted any of them. Better off going to the VFL/SANFL/WAFL with pick 57 (?) and then upgrade Clisby with 94.

Thomas - very average AFL footballer
Lower - very average AFL footballer

And while we're on the subject.

Dylan Addison - very average AFL footballer.

We just got rid of lots of very average AFL footballers from Neeld's 'money ball' approach... surely we've learnt from that.

Morton's career path amazes me. He was universally considered a good pick at 4 when we got him (Scott Clayton I believe, would have taken him at #1). In 2008, he won our best first year player award. In 2009, his 2nd season at 19 years of age, Cale amassed 476 disposals in 21 games at an average of 22.66 a game.

It all turned to shit quickly.

Out with a shoulder/some other injury suffered in a preseason game v Adelaide (interestingly enough, on a regional field that was bigger than the MCG. Jurrah also injured his shoulder this game) for most of 2010. Then Baileyball happened in 2011. And then Neeld in 2012.

Wonder if Cale will stay in WA and play WAFL, or more back to Victoria and try to crack into a VFL team. Should team up with Gys and harden the f*ck up.

Think it was more an ankle injury which sidelined him at the start of 2010 in a game against Essendon at Visy Park.

I feel kinda sorry for Morton. In a lot of the interviews I've seen him in from WC and Melbourne he was always honest and generally took responsibility for his career falling apart. In a way I'd like to see him work his arse off at WAFL or VFL level for a while and come back as a more mature player. Can't see it happening though.

Its weird, I reckon he may have been ok to play another year.

His debut game for us was very promising and he went from horrible in the WAFL to very good. Strange right?

TBH I reckon considering his age if he worked really hard in the WAFL or VFL he has the talent to get picked up somewhere as a rookie?
