Am I crazy to have Zorko, Rockliff, Karnezis all in my forward line? as well as having Moloney in my mids and potentially Leuey in my rucks?

I just can't choose between Zorks and Rocky, I see everyone reckons Rocky is a must have lock but I think Zorko could pull off a better year than him.

Should I just choose one or could I get away with having both as well as the rest of the Brissy players

the lions have demonstrated they are amongst the fittest teams heading into round 1, they should be racking up the points in the latter stages of games early in the season.

Its the part of the game that i enjoy now.

You obviously wouldn't be picking Ablett or Swan because they are going to lose 80-100k and my Ruck 4 rookie is going to make me 20k
I dont care about losing money thats the complete oposite of my argument,

My argument is keepers and big price earners are all thats worth it

Swan and Ablett are keepers theyll be in the top 5 i dont care if they lose price, they're locks

You don't understand the point at all.

So Ablett and Swan will be there in your team in round 22?

So JPK was a terrible pick last year? (your saying Boak will actually improve more than JPK did last year)

Yeah of course they will be, why woudlnt you have the two best dream teamers in history??

The games completely different this year with 44 trades, if you dont have the 8 best midfielders you'll be behind.

With 44 trades this year a player priced at 84 that averages 100 would be locked in my side again and again. I'd grab a dozen of them if I could.
Not sold on Boak myself, but he's not a bad pick.

Only took an hour:eek:

It was proven by me that if you picked 22 players that improved their starting price avg by 18 across the board you wouldve won DT without a trade last year (i think the number was 18, maybe 22). Rookies improve by 40-45. Getting guys that improve by 15+ is very rare if you pick them than your in a very good position.

Stop worrying about too many players from 1 team.....the new trade rule can allow you to have a few players from one team.

A third of my team is made up of either Port or Brisbane players. This doesn't bother me in the slightest. The new rules mean that bye rounds are the least of my worries.

Just need to get two questions sorted and then my team is set. Zorko v Bartel and Goldstein v Kreuzer. Two former premiums looking to regain their best form versus two young players with a heap of fantasy potential hoping to have their first full seasons as premiums. ATM I've gone with Zorko and Kreuzer, but I know that these will be the questions that I toss and turn over until lockout.

The first one is tough (have both at the moment) but I really like the look of Kreuzer this year and have him in my team at the moment. I know it's dicey picking players on NAB form, but he looked lively in the final and he can score quickly when he gets involved. A fit Kreuzer could become a DT elite.

Goldstein? That horse don't run.

EDIT: A THIRD of your team is Brisbane/Port players? Tonight you're going to party like it's 2004.

Are you serious? Colq was ranked #1 for possies (27 average) @ the under 18 carnival last year. Has also found a lot of the ball during the NAB. The only problem is his current JS, but I feel that will change very soon once he gets a game or 2 under his belt. Big call I know, but I think he has the potential to average as much if not more than any of the popular first year Mid only rooks. I may even plonk him @ M8 and give myself a DP link to the backs even if he isn't named in the starting 22 for Rd1.
Vlastin has better job security put of the two defensive kids at this stage but I guess I won't know until teams are named. Rookies will change dependant on selection

Yeah, I'm banking on Kreuzer playing as #1 ruck (Warnock not playing last week was a very good sign) and tearing it up. He certainly has the athletic ability to do so, and the new ruck rules should help him. MM's gameplan might net him a few more marks on the wing and hitouts from the extra ruck contests too, as opposed to Ratten's handball happy gameplan which favoured quick midfielders. I think he's going to have a breakout year at some point, and there's no reason why it can't be this year.

It just bothers me that there's a ruckman with an average of nearly 100 over a full year just sitting there for 400k and I'm not taking him, but by now we all know the risks with Goldstein. I think that by the end of the year, the question of whether or not you picked Todd Goldstein will be crucial to your overall ranking. Unfortunately I don't know yet whether picking him will be crucial in a good way or a bad way.

Hartlett, Pittard, Stevenson, Heath, Wines, Mitchell, Monfries
Zorko, Rockliff, Karnezis

In a previous incarnation of my team I also had Leuenberger, that would've pushed the number out to being more than a third of my team. Sticking with one of the 400k'ers ahead of Leuey for now though.

watson or boyd

have a feeling boyd will drop off this year whereas watson will smash it win lose or draw??

arg, help me in convincing me which way???

If anything Watson's average might drop a little with more mid assistance in Goddard and Heppell. Boyd is ridiculously consistent.

Option 1:
B. Ellis + Cotchin + Kennedy (wce)

Option 2:
Vlastuin + Murphy + Robinson

Would have all 3 on the field if named

I think Option 2 as you have two premium players versus one in the former. Murphy offers great value and many people (such as DTTalk guys) rate Robinson highly. Vlastuin also looks good.

However, there is merit in Option 1. Cotchin is a jet, he averaged around 116 in his last 11 games last year and I imagine would maintain that output or at least keep his average. He is also a joy to watch.

Ellis looms as a breakout candidate too. The only thing with Kennedy is he needs to kick a lot of goals to have a good score. Plus some of his scores worry me... I remember looking at them being in the 20s and 30s when he has an off game. Then again, I think WCE have an easier fixture early on.

There is a lot to consider, however I would have Option 1 is just ahead as at this time there appears more certainty in those picks. Hard to judge w/o the rest of your team - it could be that Option 1 fits the structure better.

Now I have one, Matthew Pavlich vs. Dayne Zorko.

I would pick Pavlich but I know he has had troubles this preseason? ... And Zorko looked brilliant last Friday.

Help!

I like the latter group. Higher ceiling.

Hartlett and Kane Lucas or Vlastuin and Marc Murphy?

I like Vlats and Murphy. I reckon Murphy will thrive under mick Malthouse, plus I'm not sold on Hartlets durability.

Travis Varcoe (DPP) or Kane Lucas and no mid/forward link?

I'd expect them to average pretty much the same, so go where there is the DPP link

Ablett + S.Selwood
vs
Watson + JPK
Expect varcoe to average the same as lucas?? No form has that as a lightly possibility at this stage.. it may be true but current form has them ten to twenty points apart
