What i'm really trying say is i don't want to waste 1 of my 13 remaining trades...
Or here's a thought to miss a nort ya could downgrade a first bye rookie to a third bye rookie (neade > kmart) And use the extra splash for ya prems next week.

The rolling lockout does work, and the players in the bye teams are locked in last.

This is an absolute free kick in terms of the captain loophole. Previously the bye players were locked at the start of the round, which made it (the captain loophole) far more difficult.

Heres my team for the round 11 bye.

I will possibly have 20 players playing, 18 if Crouch and Thurlow don't get selected.

I plan to upgrade Turlich > Duffield next week and the week after O'Meara > Tom Mitchell and Macaffer > Stevie J. Will move Stevie J into the midfield (via B.Kennedy DPP link) in round 12 to help cover the outs there and move him back forward in round 14 while trading out JJ Kennedy to Watson which will complete my midfield.

Round 15 I will bring in Gibbs and that will be about it, my teams as good as upgraded then.

Will sit tight on my trades and prey to the supercoach gods.

Whats everyone think of that?

could somebody please clarify the loophole for me for the byes, just a bit confused

So i'm going to put the (VC) on Ablett.
If i want his score, I will put the (C) on Viney
Now do I put Swan on the bench and give him the (E)? or do I have Swan playing, with no (E) selected?

quick question: can you put the (C) on a player who is having his bye? or does it need to be a player whose team is playing, but he is not, ie. Viney, Currie

From the Supercoach Rules and FAQ:

Set a Captain (and Vice Captain) as you normally would for double points. If your Captain's doubled score is NOT in your Best 18 scores, then their points will not count - you simply get your Best 18 scores only. Similarly, if your Captain's doubled-score is NOT in your Best 18 scores, you do NOT automatically receive double points from your Vice Captain - your Vice Captain only receives double points as per any other round, if your Captain does not play for any reason.

Yes, you can put the (C) on a player who is having his bye. Or you can also put it on someone whose team is playing but he is not, like Viney. Both are fine. But make sure either your C or VC score will be in your best 18, or you won't get the benefit of a doubled score.

Also, if you have less than 8 non-bye players in the midfield, you don't even need to give the (E) to Swan. But answering your question: in that case, yes, put the (E) on Swan.

If you have further available players in any position during these multi-bye rounds, you may set Emergencies for those positions as usual. Emergencies will continue to replace non-starting players in your Starting 22 with the usual rules, in the same position (including any 'bye' player that you may have left in your Starting 22) and their score will only count if it is in your Best 18.

thanks a lot mate! :D
really appreciate the clarification

now let's hope Swan doesn't get rested :p

There were questions about when players on a bye get locked. It's definitively "at the last game".

But seeing as the players enjoying the bye haven't technically played a game, you can trade or substitute those players with gay abandon right up to the bounce of the last game of the weekend.

Basically that means that if you're in a private league game up to your ears come Monday and you've got a Dayne Zorko, for example, sitting in your midfield that would have otherwise been a zero, you could trade him to a Scott Pendlebury or Dane Swan to make sure you've got some iron clad points in the bank to help get you over the line.

How many prem everyone benching? I got K.Cornes, S.Mitchell, Cooney, Minson, Rocky

Hanley, Birchall, Dixon*, Rockliff, Franklin, Vlastuin*

I would count Vlastuin as a premo Def ATM. Might sideways Dixon to another premo if not named depending on other selections. Would prefer to hold though...

So you would be happy with Vlasutin on ground at the end of the year in your final team?

He's averaged 102.6 from his last 5 games (played 6 games in total) if he keeps averaging 90-95 for here on, why wouldn't I want him in my final team? It's not what a side looks like on paper that is important, it's what they are scoring. I could care less if the scores are coming from a 1st year player. As it stands, he's a top 3 Defender from the last 5 rounds. Unless he drops off significantly over a 3 game stretch I'll keep starting him all year. Apart from his 1st game he's been very consistent. Playing in the midfield also helps his cause. Pick of the 1st year rookies so far, JOM included. For all I know Vlastuin will be on the ground at years end and a Birchall, Dixon or Hanley is warming the pine in my final team.
