Daniel Cross would be perfect for your mob, i have been saying it for a while now. Not only is he the fittest bastard around, he would teach your young guys what insane work ethic and suicidal tendencies means. A wonderful role model really. Roo's already showing his brains.

Why not just ask the MFC members to go down and explain to them what it means....

Because words are words, but seeing a team mate go head first time after time, running as hard in the 4th Quarter as the 1st. if that doesn't make you try harder, want it more then the opposition. then you don't have a pulse. There is a reason Cross is loved by supporters and team mates alike, and spoken of in such high tone, he isn't as classy or skilled as some, but what he offers on the field, and at training is priceless. Don't worry, when you see him doing what Crossy does in your mobs colours. by the end of 2014 you'll understand if you don't now.

As an aside. If Boyd wasn't captain, most dogs supporters are in agreement that it would have been Boyd who was let go and not Cross. He was unlucky. Much like when both started, there was only room for 1 of them. Sadly, in their later years, the same is again true. We have to focus on youth, hard call needed to be made.

Haha i know mate, was supposed to be a joke....Anyway I would love to get Cross, would be a great leader and teacher to our younger mids.

:p oops, in my defense i had just traveled over from reading the Essendon thread so my humours were out of whack, I'm sure you can understand. Seems they want Cross too, well the posters, nothing from the club yet :D

We need him more than any other club and given we can probably pay him the most whilst keeping him in Melbourne for the final year or 2 of his career - I'd be surprised if we couldn't get him.

Even if he's chasing success - top sides won't have the need for him.

Agreed, I would love him on board. He can be that role model that we need for the younger lads, boost up their momentum, and get them firing. He'd be a great pick up for us, I believe we will get him.

He's a guy who can actually still get a kick as well - unlike Byrnes and Rodan.
 
Not sure Cross is that good a kick really, but we're not in a position to be that picky when it comes to experienced, hard-working midfielders like him.

That's it. His spread alone is worth it for us
 
We're certaintly best placed to land Cross. I doubt any other clubs that would be willing to offer 2 years, nor would any that have as much free cash as.

I'll certainly be happy if we land him. Cross is a better footballer than any of the mature recruits we picked up last year (except Dawes, jury is out, but he has youth on his side).

I'll certainly be happy to see some protection and workload taken off Viney and Jones.
