We won't get much change from pick 2 for Shiel if GWS have their heads screwed on. Unless he has specifically requested a trade home (which hopefully he would if we dangled a $350k carrot at him) they will be playing hard ball over a contracted, best 22 player who they surely don't want to lose.

He's been somewhat hidden through injury, but if Shiel we're to have been at a club like Geelong, Hawthorn, he would've had the same impact in his first 2 years as Selwood. He's rated very,very high by GWS, they'd be shattered if they lose him.

I was lucky enough to see him play a fair bit of junior footy, have a look at 4.40 in this vid, 16/17 year olds just don't do this, the fact he did it in a GF, he's just going to be a superstar, so obviously a bit of bias on my behalf, but would be stoked if we got him:

Also he looks like one of those kids who was huge when he was 12 then stopped growing. I have a mate who played rep junior basketball next to David Anderson at power forward who stopped growing well short of 6 foot.

They will if they think he's going to be off next year anyway. Especially for pick 2.

It allows them to keep pick 1 for Boyd and on-trade pick 2 for a couple of experienced players, which is what they're desperate for.

They won't do the deal without already knowing what they'll snare with pick 2, so a third club will be involved.

Yep. Ideal would be Shiel and Bugg for 2 and 21 and Adams walking into the PSD. Adds Shiel, Bugg, Adams and potentially Zac Jones with our Sylvia compensation to the midfield next year. Then Chapman and Cross potentially too. Would be fantastic, even if we didn't pull off Adams.
