Still in the top 5 I would've thought

yeah def top 5. but given he won't play again (i don't think) this season, that makes it mathematically impossible and hence no chance. i'd nearly start writing the speech for him if he didn't get injured. the others are behind but within striking distance.

Gary Ablett will win the brownlow if selwood scores 0-2 votes next week. Only person who can now beat him is selwood. Have Ablett on 24 votes and selwood 22, with a raft of players on the 18-20 mark.

I have Selwood on 23 and Ablett on 24. So he'll need something against brisbane if he wants the medal. What a sad story it would be however, if he missed out 2 years running to Gary Ablett by one vote. IMO he deserved to draw last year and he should win it this year on that basis alone, but I'm hideously bias on this I must confess.

It would be sadder if Gaz missed by one vote despite missing a third of the season. Clearly the best player this year

I'm not sure a player who misses that many games through injury or otherwise, who's team will probably miss the finals deserves to win it just because his name is Gary Ablett. But hey we can agree to disagree. Not everyting in a game is about the stats alone.

Same thing Boomer did last week
Are you looking at the photo or the video? I'm no fan of Selwood at all but there was absolutely nothing in it. Fleeting contact fighting for the ball. Utterly ridiculous if he goes for that.

Ablett doesn't deserve to win it because of his name, Ablett deserves to win it because he's the best player in the competition by a country mile and he was amazing in the 16 matches he played. Selwood doesn't come close to Ablett's output this year, injuries or not.

Priddis seemingly hasn't picked up any votes in the last fortnight, so seemingly another remote contender is effectively being ruled out.

I wonder if we'll end up having a year like 2003. Hard to see too many players as 20+ certainties at this stage.

Missed most of the Swans game today, Buddy in the votes? With 6 goals I assume so.

He'll storm home for the medal. Would be a great win.

Nine games with 5 goals or more. Suspect he'll get two or three in all of them, he's stuck out like dogs balls.

Reckon he'll tie with Gray and Selwood.

IMO abletts brownlow fate rests in one game. vs Hawthorn where he got 45 possession but the team was comfortably beaten and it was one of the less impressive 45 possession games i've seen in my time. if ablett can jag 2 votes for that game he should win.

posted in the Robbie Gray thread- better suited here

cannot see Selwood, Pendles, Kennedy getting enough votes- they have not been as dominant as other years where they have not one

I reckon Ablett will be hard to beat -Fyfe cannot win so may hurt votes- but Gray/Heppell/Franklin should poll well if umpires actually vote on who is actually the most influential- rather than giving votes based on reputation.

The fact Gray will win Coaches award says a fair bit about the blokes ability.

Also- watched sydneyvsdogs- and liberatore was close to BOG in a team that got smacked.
Definite smokey

Liberatore is $101 for a reason.

No chance.

Rubbish. If Ablett polls 25 votes and holds on to win, it will be thoroughly deserved.
