A team full of same same players will have you finishing top 8 but will never get you to the elite status of top 2-3 teams in the league

When i look through the Richmond line up , I see a very bland team thats full of work horses with good citizens that never really break open games and tear teams apart . Some will argue Martin,Delidio and Jack but in all honesty Lids no longer runs and carries the ball Jack & Dusty are more fowards with Dusty having the ability to do it but isnt a full time mid that dominates for 4 quaters.

The inside foot soldiers are always available later in the draft at our 2nd selection but players with a difference not so much and are always a risk, But to win a flag you need to take a risk to get the players that ignite the team and become the game breakers/changers . There are things i look at when looking at junior players that i like to take notice off and 1 is what is their ceiling and what are there tools/skills and chances of doing it at the top level

Also have a look at the next 3 players at our selection that is there and how they compare to the said player aswell as how these 3 players will compare to the players available at our next pick #33

Cockatoo
Speed - Tick
Endurance -Tick
Size -Tick
Kick - Tick
Leap - Tick
Inside/Out -Tick
Age - Tick (bottom age)
Gun Junior all the way through - Tick

Flaws - Missed 2014 with injury
Needs to learn to take 1st option
Kicking - Can spray but usually due to running speed or distance
accountability for his opponent - This is normal with junior kids that are predominantly attacking players and is usually ironed out in the first 2 years

#12 is early for Cockatoo due to his missed season, But if he hadnt missed this year with injuries he would easily be a top 10 selection and rated along with Pickett,Weller,Duggan,De Goey etc

Christian Patracca 12 months ago was rated as a top 10-15 type player, I seen him play 2 years ago and said to my friends this kid will be a top 3 pick mark my words and he wasnt so convinced as i was and said he was a man child and in 2014 the other players will catchup.
Christian is nearly 10 months older than Nakia - Just think about this

If Nakia was born 2 months later and wasnt in this years draft, Where do you think this kid would rate with another 12 months of development
He would be Dominating . and in 2015 you would need a top 5 selection to pick him up.

Nakia in the Richmond Football Club with 12 months of development under people like Chocco and our development coaches will be dominating VFL towards the end of his 1st year and in 2016 will be well and truly in the startin 22 replacing Chris Newman in the team

Even if Richmond dont select him, I will be watching Nakia's career with interest

In many ways I agree. But the problem with seeing Cockatoo as the MAN is that he might really be a decent run and carry player, but not an A grade talent. I personally think we need outside speed, with decent kicking skill. The good ones like that go top 10 usually. Getting another inside mid is OK if they free up our established beautiful ball users. I reckon that if we do well in 2015 we should be trying for someone like Danger. But we shall see.

The area where we are quite different as a team is in our tall forwards. Jack is great, with lots of tricks. Griff has the potential to be very different, great mover, good mark and can kick it 70m. TV has good skills, very fast, efficient around the goals and can crunch players. If Griff and TV can come on we have a strange forward line. Very tall, athletic, skilled and capable of playing a 70-80 forward arc. Add in a decent medium forward (Lids, Dusty will do) and crumbers and we have something different.

So you are saying there is more to life than just ****?

I'll let FJ be the judge of that. I'm sure he is an expert on good **** and bad ****.

(My wife just came in and is not very happy with me - Oh well life goes on) :p

What range do you think he goes?

I have him in my top 40. I think he's a very good player but we have seen limited footage of him due to his injury history.

He's got very good pace and endurance mix, loves the contest and has very good skills.

I though coming into this year he may have been a guy to consider late first early second round.

He reminds me a bit of Sheds but I think he's a bit quicker and better skilled.

It's only ironic that we invest so heavily into the KGI but we avoid indigenous players like the plague.
Been burnt a couple of times with Taylor and Peterson as well as Roberts and Gilligan being homesick. But on the other hand the white kids burn us just as regularly by being shit.

Fremantle Dockers axe troubled youngster Josh Simpson after two seasons at the club

FREMANTLE has run out of patience with Josh Simpson, delisting the former first-round pick after two years at the club.

Simpson, who was selected with pick 16 in the 2012 national draft, played just two games for the Dockers amid off-field disciplinary problems.

Fremantle fined Simpson in January and April this year after failing to meet club requirements, before banishing him from the club and affiliate Peel Thunder and ordering him to undertake a personal development program in June.

Dockers football operations manager Chris Bond said Simpson, 20, had fallen short of expectations in the development program.

Sometimes, it's better to get people out of states where they have family and friends.

I saw it first hand with Jared Brennan and Josh Simpson looks the same.

He is a super talent. Absolutely brilliant player.

Would he be worth a shot for us or too much trouble?

A player that talented would be worth a rookie spot... and another opportunity for Choco and his player motivational skills.

Question with Simpson is will he move.

How messed up is he? Is another Garlett situation or has he got a chance?
Pretty sure it's not a Garlett situation.
