I had thought Billings is probably quite similar to Petracca... obviously you can never have enough of those types of players, but it is definitely a point towards them picking McCartin.

a mistake MFC has recently made.

overlooked Wines cause he was too similar to Viney.

Billings is good. 2 Billings is better.

Doing a bit of pre-draft snooping to pass the time before tonight.

Jack Lonie looks good. Dean Kent/Kennedy-Harris type nuggety small. Can never have too many versatile HFF/FP players when you're trying to build around a young KPF.

Would like him at 40.

Spot on. The bloke has serious upside and is lethal by foot. Would be over the moon if we picked him up at 40!

On the other hand, we learnt during the Bailey years that you can have far too many versatile HFF types when you're trying to build around a young HFF type who is masquerading as a KPF.

Seriously though I would be after a kid who can play HBF, run-and-carry style ideally with very good skills.

What's more, I see Petracca* playing mostly on the forward flank next year. Given he only really learnt to be a midfielder this year, I think it would be too much of a step up in both fitness and game knowledge to throw him into the centre square too much early.

Good call, dream result for me at 40 would be Damian Cavka - hard running midfielder who apparently will slide a bit.

Would be silly of the Saints to overlook Petracca because of Billings - sure they play similar positions, but they are completely different players... Petracca is an animal and Billings more skillful and creative.

Anyone know of a way to watch the draft without fox footy?
Really resisting the urge to again complain about pay tv.

But anyway if you're on demonology they will have a link to a live stream tonight

Been looking forward to watching the draft tonite and was fairly chipper at work today in anticipation. After reading the news on Phillip Hughes it's really sucked the air out of my sails. Hopefully watching tonite will be something of a pick-me-up for the soul.

I couldn't care less about the draft, now, really.

My predictions for tonight, a little different to most:

#1 - Desiree
#2 - Wilja
#40 - Coliban
#53 - Kipfler
#PSD2 - Sebago

On drafting history I think I might get the sweep.

I don't know what to think. On the one hand we could get the next selwood and danger. On the other, it's mfc and something Murphys law applies at all time. Pick 2 + 3. 2 + 3 =5. And 5 is the number of nipples Hitler had if he had 3 more nipples. God help us

Gysberts2Bate, the silhouette with a question mark must concern you. Will we pick a roughie at #3?
