I keep posting that I would not be surprised if we trade for Dangers this year.

Nominates Hawks
pressure to deal before he walks as a FA following year
Crows very weak position compounded by draft sanctions from Tippett saga.
Can keep his salary cap impact in check minimising the impact on our TPP & list

I believe this is more our style, rather than flashing the big bucks at the FA meat market auction.
Welcome to hawthorn, Rodney.

I hope you pinch Kieran Jack somehow.
Won't happen while the AFL are paying him that lucrative "NSW AFL Ambassador" cash which I daresay is the purpose of the program - to prevent two of the $wans best players from being poached (while the COLA gave them free reign to poach everyone else's) though I do love the idea.

Would be hilarious to grab a free agent for half the salary from Sydney

Surely we can sell him on the cost of living here? If the Swines are to be believe - half his salary down here would buy him 7 houses in Toorak, 3 non Hannerburied Mercedes' and still have some left over to eat every meal at Vue De Monde.

Danger fits the 20 to 22 year old dynamic Mid need touted by the Hawks and with a Milion plus to play with we surely are in to him big time! Can't believe Jon Ralph says that Blues are willing to pay about 600 k a year..lol. I say we go after him like no tomorrow.

There are plenty of talented young mids out there, we need to be realistic though when considering trading for these guys. Talent such as Dangerfield, Fyfe, Whitfield, Treloar, O'Rourke and Prestia would all require our first pick and a decent player.

Personally I wouldn't be surprised if we were to organise a rather reasonable trade with GWS, though most likely at the expense of an important player or two in our team. If I were working at GWS, the main need for the team would be to attain a genuine small forward. While he isn't from Sydney, Luke Breust would be the first and major trade period target for me, particularly given the Giants' excess midfielders and high draft picks.

Perhaps something along the lines of Breust + first pick for O'Rourke + first pick (though I imagine we'd have to give more than that given O'Rourke was a no. 2 draft pick and their first pick would be around the same area), though this is obviously purely conjecture. I'd also imagine it would cause quite an amount of discontent if Breust were to be traded, but it would still be an idea worth contemplating particularly as we would quite likely pick up two highly rated midfielders/players. But that's all just crazy rambling and unbased thoughts.

How when he turns 24 in two weeks?

Is this a joke?

Whitfield and O'Meara both signed until the end of 2016.

Now here are some names that I'm interested in. They may be the future of their respective clubs but promise these guys are starting spot in 2015 and who knows.

* Josh Thomas (Collingwood)
* Jackson Thurlow (Geelong). Tassie boy to boot.

What would you trade for Josh Thomas?

You have to be kidding.
Every Collingwood player is overrated due to their high profile. They would be too expensive and would prove to be average very quickly.

Recent examples like Daisy Thomas and Shaw: average players, both panic under the least bit of pressure. But, being Collingwood, they are treated like superstars, and they get superstar contracts.

No thanks.

Mate be fair, don't be one eyed.

Maybe it's your hatred for Collingwood talking, but you're dillusional if you think Heath Shaw is an average player -He's a lot better than average.

Whenever opposition players get assessed on here, the concensus is pretty much all players are rubbish bar those playing for the Hawthorn FC.

It doesn't help when we spank the Pies more often than not as that's when most of us will be weighing up their worth.

My point was he was grossly overpaid due to manipulation of the system.
yeah that is true in fact what I was filthy about it at the time, as freo made an audacious bid for him and only months earlier where fined for being over TPP, we should have been compensated for that , was like dummy bidding at an auction with no money
