What's the average salary in AFL? About $250,000? I would offer Gibbs that...

Grilling the board about their plans? FFS! He's the one who needs to be grilled about his plans...like when he plans to show a heart...

If we get Mundy like rumoured then why are so many against it?

He could help us snag 1 more flag b4 the likely gws and gold coast domination begins and he wouldn't cost us a draft pick or anything. Salary cap yes as it would have to be a good deal but we have the money, I honestly think it would be a great get. Hurts a contender and we gain a gun tall mid for 3 years to help us try and win another flag whilst we are in our Window still.

He also will offset the loss of our gun older mids by lasting a year or 2 longer than say Sewell will. If someone like hallahan or so can't step up enough yet then this is vital.

I wouldn't trade Bruest for O'Meara
And I rate O'Meara very highly!
Then you're silly. O'Meara is going to be one of the best mids we've seen, and Bruest is a very handy forward.

Wright would do that trade every day of the week.......but of course, he won't get the opportunity.

I would be happy with landing Mundy if that's what Wright, Clarkson and Fagan decided on. Their recent track record means I cannot and do not question them, very often, especially when it comes to selecting players to join our list.

I'd be hopeful though that we also find ourselves a 22-24 yr old midfielder who is about ready to pop.

That's the great thing about free agency, we could get a Mundy type as a free agent, as well as look to package off our first rounder and change for a youngish player, like with Gunston and McEvoy.

I would take Gibbs over Mundy any day. Younger and more versitle which all players need to be in the modern game.

I think Gibbs will definitely leave Carlton and will florish where ever he goes. Having the burden lifted off his shoulders of playing at a club where expectations are so unrealistic year after year will do him wonders. No one can deny his talent.

Sorry Benji, But one is hard at it workhorse who doesn't give up,and the other drinks milk and eats whiskettes,no comparison!!!!!!!

As if you wouldn't be massively stoked to pick up an elite midfielder like Mundy for no draft picks or players.
I think the salary needed to prise him out of Freo would damage our list. If for some reason he wanted to leave Freo and come to us on a reasonable salary then that's a different matter.

Dylan Shiel fits the bill of a young mid ready to rise.
I think his strength in the contest is second to none already...not the best skills but not bad either.
I think he is on his last year of contract this year, can anyone confirm this?

Make it so. Would be an ideal pick up.

edit. Shiel apparently re-signed until the end of 2015.

No way we'd pay overs for anyone. It took us a while to even offer Buddy a 5 year contract.
Couldn't agree more. All you need to do is look at our recent history.....
Cannot see us splashing the cash at the meat market.

Any links or rumours are purely diversionary tactics to cover our trail. Still hoping for Dangers this year....

Should try and poach some out of contract GWS fringe players.

Will Hoskin-Elliot
Jonathan O'Rouke
Matthew Buntine
Adam Tomlinson
Jacob Townsend

Interstate young mids who are u23, have played some games (as of '13) and who may want to come home:
Andrew Gaff (WCE) - hasn't done well last 2 seasons
Ryan Lester (Bris)
Sam Kerridge (Ade)
Jarryd Lyons (Ade)
Tom Sheriden (Fre)
Matt Shaw (GC)

That's a real shame if so. I think he is a Brad Sewell on peptides, growth hormone, testosterone and dianabol tablets...

I wish afl contracts were open book to know clearly where each player is at.

Time to move on folks, Mundy is close to a new deal at Freo - http://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/a...remantle-dockers/story-fni5f6su-1226868528118

I believe that Paddy Dangerfield will be very much available as soon as the end of the 2014 season (be it for season 2015 or 2016 only time will tell and yes I know he is contracted until the end of 2015.) and here's why.
Has anyone else seen Adelaide's first 2 games, watched him get smashed in the midfield every time he goes near the ball with no help from his team mates whatsoever...not to mention the fact that that club will have no meaningful success in the next few years. It will take it's toll on him very quickly and may be enough to sway him to thinking he's better off with a fresh start in a contending midfield that is going to look after him.
He appears to go as professionally about things as anyone possibly could and surely the hawks professionalism both on and off the field, not to mention our sustained period of success and bright future would no doubt appeal to him significantly.

I'm patiently sitting back and watching Danger's season unfold as I do not believe that he will be a Crow from as early as 2015!
Tim O'Brien and our first pick at least will have to be made available to the Crows as "part" of any trade that would need to take place.

Eagerly awaiting the outcome of this.

Now what about this idea on a cheaper scale....Robbie Tarrant at CHB!
Would the Kanga's part ways with him???

Clarko's game plan is all about flexibility and having pretty much every player in the squad capable of playing several positions.
Shoenmakers and Tarrant as long term KPP swingmen???

Dangerfield is the gem, but I don't see him leaving, notwithstanding all your points!
Robbie Tarrant has talent, but cannot get on the park, just ask Kangas supporters

Of all the places Dangerfield could end up, Geelong is at the top of the tree.

I can't see him anywhere else.

Why chase a Mundy with about 3 to 4 good years in him when you could chase a Dangerfield,Treloar or a Jaegar O'Meara all hypothetical of course but at least you get a player for 6 to 12 years barring injury!!!!

No way I'd shop TOB to them even for Dangerfield. Another 2-3 preseasons and he will be ready to play CHF when Roughead is approaching 30..
