No point squabbling guys. A 1000 here, a coupla 1000 there. We both have crap numbers compared to the teams that get the blockbusters and preferential scheduling.

I know they have a handful of vindictive and nasty posters (I don't think B Tron is one) but I really don't get all the North hate. Is it because the devil will take the hindmost?

We've both got to pull ourselves up by the bootstraps.

I guess it's mostly pragmatic - North's traditional base is contigious with our own, which would mean an easy expansion of reach, and it has been a recent target of attempts to move/fold it. In other words, some Bulldogs fans see North as the best opportunity for our club to grow. And it may well be the same the other way around with some North fans and us.

I've always thought that the North hate originated (in BF at least) because of their over-representation on BigFooty against wider society.

There is that.

For mine it's the blind bias in the face of undeniable proof, the unshakeable victim mentality and a misplaced sense of grandeur in that they are a supposed "successful" club. The underhanded tactics of JB don't sit particularly well with me, either.

I don't dislike North Melbourne as a club, although I've probably changed my mind on that a few times. I don't find any of their supporters particularly objectionable, either.

That said, the megaphone diplomacy conducted through that meathead Brayshaw is intolerable, and their ongoing battle to position themselves as underdogs and yet look down their noses at us is even worse.

Funnily enough, I went to school with a kid who fits this description perfectly, and he barracked for North.

He wasn't a bad bloke, but that's how the 'cool kids' saw him.

haha. Yeah . I hate that they try and build rivalries with 'big' clubs like Carlton. Why not try and build a rival with a team in a similar situation.. and create something original ... Instead of being a team like carltons 5th favorite rival..

Hey, we deserve Good Friday, we're poor and we don't have a marquee fixture yet! Oh, but we have to play a big club, or it'll be a non event.

Build new 21st century rivalries with us, instead of siding with poorly run 'Big 4' clubs desperately clinging to the glories of years gone by.

I think we've pretty much hit the end, might make its way another hundred or two, but very doubtful we will. Perhaps a couple of dozen or so. We won't be able to sell three game memberships, as we only have only have two home games left for the season.

In all though, we probably got more than expected, even some the negative brigade were thinking we would be lucky to hit 28k. Next year, target 40,000. Time the fans themselves did some rallying, and not just the club. Lets not be the little club of the AFL no more

Matt my dear fellow keep in mind how many bullshit memberships they are selling in Tasmania, their real figure would be a lot closer to ours.

While an increase Of a thousand isn't earth shattering it's better better than a decrease.

They're playing finals this year, we're not. And when we were playing finals we were above them. Success on field will change everything
