Langdon was good, didnt do a thing wrong and took some strong marks, one of the few pies that can hold there head high.

Need to take your Collingwood hate glasses off before anyone takes your posting seriously Adam H, it ruins what could be a good poster!

Gave no run and his disposal was iffy.

Hes not a running defender, Corey Enright isnt a run and carry defender yet is regarded as one of the best back pockets/flankers to play the game.

And his disposal was great, and the high disposal efficiency backs this up.

still cant get around jake stringer not getting a nomination last week....scored 4.2 in a winning side and waa close to if not the best for the dogs.
Menzel will have to double his goals tally and kick 40 plus to get a nomination. Missed a nomination in the two rounds he received AFLCA votes. LOL.

Billings missed targets and goals. DE of 55% and one goal two. Didn't thread the needle and nail his shots like a Yarran or a Menzel.

Billings ran through the middle countless times with zero to kick to no wonder his disposal was down.

He's playing on the back flank of course he is there to give run.
Sean Dempster the only defender at St Kilda who consistantly backs himself to run and carry and take a bounce at St Kilda, therefore St Kilda dont have any good Back Flankers?

Newnes Webster Wright Geary all run and carry unfortunately only ones not injured.

Oh and Savage who kicked two goals off half back today.

Does the first half of the season mean nothing?

It's not the Brownlow. You don't get votes by the week.

It's a subjective decision made by a panel of people, who may or may not decide that the number of games played carries a certain weight.

What is true is that Bontempelli appears to be impacting games at a higher level than most of his peers - on this basis, the panel may decide that is the most important deciding factor. Or they may not.

Case in point regarding the subjectivity lies in Kevin Bartlett's total omission of Ryan Griffen in his top five of 2004, despite every other panelist having him a clear second, to ensure Deledio would win the award (he would have regardless).

And Mark Ricciuto last year had Crouch at number one - despite every other panelist having O'Meara a clear first - to try and get the Adelaide boy over the line.

Point is - there's no prescribed formula nor is there a high level of transparency, so anything can happen.

They dont seem to run and take a few bounces judging from the stats, they choose to dispose of the footy instead of backing themselves to take the game on.

On top of that, aside from the subjectivity of it, it's only human, consciously or unconsciously, to add weight to more recent events.
The fact that Bontempelli didn't do much for the first eight games of the year (and didn't play for most of it) against Langdon or Dunstan's good form in that period will be negated (unfairly yes but negated all the same) simply by human nature.

The fact is Dunstan Aish Langdon have had there bodies smashed in the AFL since round one while Bont was in the VFL. What he is doing now is what the others where doing early on. It's only natural the others are grinding out games while Bont is up and about.

Do you even know who Wright Newnes and Webster are?
