Pretty good match sim today out in the heat where they played 7 - 12 minute periods. Was Purple vs White with purple being quite a bit stronger talent wise. The goal kicking wasn't great which is a concern but the pressure was pretty good.

The rehab group has been out after training as this included Harley, Griff, Langdon, Hurley (looks a way off), Balic and possibly one or two more. They are each running pretty freely and don't look too far off. Apeness, APearce and Johnson possibly involved too as they aren't with the main group I don't think.

Of the players:

Ballas was involved through the midfield and forward and was lively throughout. Wore Hill's number 32.

Dawson was solid down back with some big spoils and played well on Taberner and a few others. Kicked the ball ok but didn't get much of it obviously.

Ibbo played on Uber for parts and was pretty solid and used the ball well aside from a easy miss on goal after a 50m penalty.

Danyle was on purple and received the ball on the outside but missed a couple of kicks that I saw. Spreads well though as we know.

Fyfe was very good and just cruises through congestion and kicked a nice snap and took a nice grab forward on the lead. Seemed to play deep forward and through the midfield.

Suban worked hard and linked up through the flanks and wings. His ball use was good but he didn't stand out for purple.

DeBoer played in the middle and was his usual in and under self. He tackles hard but didn't get a lot of ball compared to other mids.

Walters played in the middle and forward and looked good when switched back to purple for the last few periods. Always dangerous forward of centre.

Sheridan was pretty vocal and provided good run and drive off half back. Played alongside Spurr/Dawson/Ibbotson and was good without being great.

Mzungu used his running to his advantage and was often in space and the link up man. His skills were OK but didn't provide a lot of drive through the middle.

Weller trained really well again with some good link up running and ball use. Just missed a shot from 50 but kicked it pretty well and another at speed from 30m but overall was heavily involved at half forward and around the middle for purple. Will play AFL this year regularly is my bet.

Hughes is a good athlete and defended well when down back. Shanked a kick in which Mayne picked off and it wasn't his best day offensively but looks a player.

Mundy was his usual self in the middle and led the troops well. Didn't dominate but was still heavily involved.

Crozier flashed in and out a bit and was playing on the flanks for the white team. Didn't really standout.

Darcy Tucker was impressive and didn't shirk a contest. He uses the ball well and could play this year I think. Very tidy off half back.

Connor Blakely was strong in the clearances for the White team and worked hard. He used the footy well and was one of the better players.

Tabs didn't get involved much for White although worked up high to the flanks to get a few kicks. Was a bit lazy at times too. Dawson manned him pretty well.

Barlow was very good through the middle for purple. His quick hands and link up play was first class today. One of the better players.

Tanner Smith didn't get much of the ball and was playing forward mainly I think. Didn't see much of him though.

Mayne went off after a head clash with Clancee but came back. Provided a good lead up target and looked dangerous throughout.

Lachie Neale was a driving force through the middle for purple too. He kicked a goal from hard running and played well. Didn't see the injury though???

Brady Grey worked really hard in the back half and showed his trademark speed and aggression. Could play AFL this year I think as a half back/midfielder.

Pav was his usual self and looked strong leading out from Full Forward. His kicking was good.

Zac Clarke worked hard around the ground and took a few marks where he led into space. Is moving well and confidence up by the look of it.

Sandilands didn't dominate today but did work hard around the ground. Needs to hold his marks in the forward line though.

Hill was a standout wearing Ballas jumper. He had a lot of the ball and provided good run through the middle from half back and the wing.
One of the better performers.

Sutcliffe didn't get involved much that I saw but did get a few touches in the back line. Needs to keep providing drive and run out of the backline.

Spurr was solid for Purple at half back. His kicking wasn't the best but he reads the play well.

Silvagni was really good down back. He spoiled strongly and had good closing speed. Will play a fair bit of AFL this year I think.

Hannath was pretty good in the ruck and took a few strong grabs. Missed a sitter in front of goal but does look more mobile and confident.

DeLuca flashed in and out a bit but did get some footy for the whites. He is quick and puts on some pressure but not quite at the standard yet.

Collins was another who was really impressive. Played on Pav and others and spoiled strongly and is good in the air. Also courageous and used the ball well.Plug and Play this year I think.

Yarran didn't get involved a lot unfortunately. Needs to make quicker decisions and adjust to the speed of the game a bit. Will be a player though and did a few nice things.

Über impressed me with his speed and played mainly forward on Ibbo. Didn't standout but looks good leading out and provides a target. I think with some development he will be a good forward down the track.

Nyhuis is a neat player out of the backline. Didn't have much of the ball but works hard and runs well.

Clancee went off after the head clash and I didn't notice him much early on.

Overall a good session but the goal kicking needs to improve and some of the skills under pressure were a bit rusty.

TTHD goes to Barlow with Hill/Fyfe close behind.

He's a comin'...

Terrific report thanks cp3_jr and several promising performances by the sound of it we'll be relatively unscathed which is the big bit.
Lachie's too tough to hurt much I reckon.o_O

I just love how accurate the West is .It read in this morning paper .
The Dockers will hold a closed intra-club match at Fremantle oval today ahead of their opening Nab Match against Richmond.
It worked for channel Eagles and the rest as there weren't any TV crews there.Glad I was there good solid hit out hope all players are ok

We asked Steve Rosich if there was any news on Lachie and he said Lachie was fine and could train tomorrow. No need for hin to say anything so you would tend to take it as fact. Clancee and Mayne a head clash. Mayne with an egg under the eye but played on, Clancee complaining of blurred vision we think and put on the civies. Brady went down with an ankle but appeared OK. Brady needs to temper his aggression in tackling. Late tackles should not be the go in scratchies.
Blakely,Barlowe,Clarke and Dawson all very good. Zac D did not give Tabs a smell. Tabs disappointing today.

After a coffee with DannytheDoorman and Salem Malik, I watched the first half of the intraclub scratchy from the area by the clubhouse. It was really sweaty and I felt very sorry for the players however at halftime I joined Gaskin under the Morton Bay Figs in the outer where there was a lovely breeze and it was very comfortable. I suspect though it must have been quite sapping for the players.

I left about half way through the second half. It was certainly a serious hit out and the players were hard at it throughout and as cp3_jr said there was quite a clash with Clancee coming off second best.

I was by the clubhouse when Lachie Neale was injured just before half time. He was helped off by the trainers and seemed unable to put any weight on his leg. Will have to wait for info from the club on the seriousness.

I think cp3_jr has nailed most of it. I thought one of the better performers was Tommy who looked neat and composed down back for the A team. Our veterans in Pav, Sandi and Mundy all look fit and in form. Mundy made everything look easy around the stoppages and then spent a bit of time at half back after half time and made that look easy as well. Pav seemed to rotate a bit with Fyfe midfield and forward and moved well.

Fyfe spent plenty of time forward and was very effective despite staying in first gear.

Zac D looks to be in form. Zac C is moving exceptionally well and marked strongly, lets see if he can bring that thru the season.

There were no really impressive passages of play, even though the purple team (the A team) were fielding a much stronger side. There was also no real evidence of the lower, flatter kick that has apparently been coached.

There was a couple of really confusing 50 meter penalties paid (the game was umpired by proper umpires I think) which apparently reflect new rules for the man on the mark. I have not seen anything about this.

I was disappointed that Tabs showed little. He was on the weaker team and manned by Zac D, but last year he trained well over the summer and played well in the intraclub. I want to see him step it up (I am sure we all do).

Ross was sitting on the scoreboard and at one stage I heard him tell Prior to run out and tell Silvagni to "stop rolling off and pull his head in".

Thanks for the great report but I thought Clarkey went real well and he was certainly motivated today taking clutch marks and kicking goals. Blakely was my best as he was in everything and ran hard all day working as a midfielder. Fyfey dropped a couple of marks in the forward line when he was rotating with Pav through the midfield. Brady Grey overdid the aggression for a match sim. He put down Subes and another in late tackles.

Dawson showed today exactly why we need him at Fullback as he was called to block (which he regularly does for his backline colleagues) out someone so Tommy Sheridan could mark the ball with ease in the last line of defence. Pity we cant get a copy of that play on Video to show all the haters and stats men that decry his performance and worth to the team.

Lachie Neale's Injury cp3_jr scon imadoka sherrif jedi mind tricks TheInjuryFactory Sandi7; salim malik dockerfemme

Lachie and another player in a part of the play in the Western pocket at the Clubhouse end clashed with another players knee with his knee. He went down and couldnt get up and let out an expletive. He was then assisted to get up and carried off albeit with both his feet off the ground and taken up to the changerooms.

Bondy came down and promised to let us know how Lachie was on the basis it would be as soon as he knew he would tell us. (I made a promise to him if he did that that all the BF crew that hate Bondy :):)would withdraw their bad comments about him immediately) and he smiled ha ha:p:p

We were later advised by Management that Lachie is OK :thumbsu: and that Lachie has said he will play in the game (at Mandurah) next week. So fingers and anything else you can cross that he has a quick recovery.

Note: The start of @ Salim Malik's weekend just got better with the news that Lachie will play next week at Mandurah. He was looking to have sleepless nights if he couldnt get any news about the injury;).

We had another incident to day where Clancee and Mayney who were on opposite teams went hard at the ground ball from different directions and clashed heads with both of them laying on the ground for a short time. The Doctor came down to assess both of them in one of the dug outs with Clancee having some swelling around his right eye and cheekbone. They both came back on to play but Clancee's headache forced him to sit out the last of the 12 minute qtrs. Hope they both have a quick recovery. Fingers etc crossed.

Thank you Danny. Any chance of Collins coming in ahead of Tabs up forward. It does not sound like Tabs is having a good pre season.
Clarkey may be our best bet up forward to be our other KP option otherwise.

Great report. Cheers.

Collins has done little training in real terms at CHF and hasn't done any specific bodywork training as per sessions run by David Hale (Jack Hannath was just OK today and missed a gimme goal in a set shot from about 50 out but I cant see him playing as a Key Forward) . I would say it wasn't Tabs day today but on Monday or it might have been Wednesday when they were doing sims he only dropped one mark in a pack marking contest and made himself available and did well so he goes from good to not so good which young players tend to do. Th rest of TABS pre-season has been very good in my opinion.

I think Collins will build up his flexibility for the future to capitalise on his previous work at Box Hill to be able to competently play forward or back. He is still doing some puffing and blowing from his sustained efforts in drills but his tank will build in time.

He is a Leigh brown lookalike albeit a quicker one and smarter one at this stage. He and Ubergang look quite similar from a distance but Uber has white boots so that helps to identify him. This time next week we will be looking at the players warm up at Mandurah for the start of the NAB Challenge against Richmond so we will get more of an idea about how Tabs is going in a real hit out.

I was impressed with the big boys today;

Sam Collins continues to mark strongly in one on one and pack marks.
Uebergang Took a couple of strong marks and Zac Clarke took plenty of marks all over the ground.

Ethan Hughes and Connor Blakely especially, demonstrated great evasive skills in a couple of passages.

It must have been extremely difficult for Dean Magetts today, umpiring a Dockers intra game.
His form continued, he didn't pay Freo any kicks.

Really is time Brady solve this problem, if not he will always knocking on the door (best 22) and then get injured in WAFL.
