Whilst we are at it, the club should make a formal complaint about the umpiring the other night. It is bad enough to get belted on the scoreboard but we got reamed by the dimwits the other night and I'm normally very impartial in this area.

The genuinely poor umpiring decisions coupled with them allowing Hawks players to elbow, punch & forearm our guys with no penalty or free kick whatsoever is a nothing short of a disgrace and should not be allowed to go unheeded.

Make some friggen noise Log, that's why you are the Prez !!
I hate to say it, but I feel like Mick would have been quite vocal about the umpiring in that game and would have pushed them for a formal please explain.

I think it's time we had a change of umpires and an overhaul of the MRP.

I don't want to hear an umpire's name during the course of the game, I don't want to know their names full stop. I don't want them to be given stupid nicknames as though they're some kind of celebrity. Umpires should be anonymous, they should be unnoticed. They should not impact the result of a game. They should not "interpret" the rules at all, only apply them as they are written.

The MRP should sit each night at the conclusion of all games, or at worst, the following morning. If you want to keep your Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights free, stick to your day-job and let someone else have your spot. They should penalise deliberate acts harshly, regardless of "impact", and scrutinise accidental acts based on how reasonable the action was. Punching a bloke in the gut off the ball should always be deemed worse than accidentally clipping a bloke high when spoiling. A player going hard for the ball should not be penalised for high contact if their opponent headbutts them in the hip.

We've got umpires who want to be seen, want to be heard, and are ruining games in their own quest for notoriety.

And we've got a MRP that can't even stay consistent from one week to the next, and is too easily swayed by the Media Inquisition.

Sick of this shit.

Finally, a week we weren't screwed over by the MRP :)

Dylan Buckley, Carlton, has been charged with charged misconduct against Lindsay Thomas, North Melbourne, during the first quarter of the Round 18 match between Carlton and North Melbourne, played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday August 1, 2015.

In summary, he can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea.

A first offence for misconduct is classified as a $1500 sanction, An early plea reduces the penalty to a $1000 sanction.

Michael Firrito, North Melbourne, has been charged with striking Matthew Kreuzer, Carlton, during the second quarter of the Round 18 match between North Melbourne and Carlton, played at Etihad Stadium on Saturday August 1, 2015.

In summary, he can accept a one-match sanction with an early plea.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from the Carlton Football Club, it was the view of the panel the incident should be classified as careless conduct with medium impact to the head. Very happy Bucks 'got off' with a fine. I have to admit to being a little concerned with his actions. Was well over the boundary line when he flung his opponent to the ground.
Amazing that Firrito is suspended for a week (deservedly), yet 3 umpires at the game didn't even award a free kick to Kreuze for being punched in the face.

Also amazing that he gets a week for that, which despite being crude and dangerous was in play. Yet Gibson floors a kid in his first season with a full-blown punch to the gut, off the ball, and gets off with a fine.

Reckon the AFL/MRP need to sort their shit out and decide whether they want to discourage thuggish behaviour or not.

But it was only Lyndsay Thomas - he staged the whole sling movement - just kidding

Kreuze doesn't go down much but when he does you know it is serious, he virtually showed bruising straight after the hit.(deemed medium
Reminds me of the time against *FC when he rucked and then went to ground to rove his own ball and was jumped on by 2 *FC players, Kreuze was pinged for holding the ball and after a while got up with blood streaming from his head, nope, no high contact there.

I'd like to see their deliberations go to air live, with an audience worm and call it "Nero's Thumb"

Happy to see Fyfe get off though. The report was terrible and Fyfe's impact dropped away after the incident. May have cost Freo the game. The umpire shouldn't actually report players anymore...just make a note of any incidents for the MRP to check later. It makes them look stupid sometimes.

Hodgey - 2 weeks. What a disgrace that thug is - should be 4 or 5.

If you watch the video, he deliberately tries to wedge his opponent's head into the behind post.

Utter scum.

But but but he is such a good bloke Azul.

He's actually being rested until the finals.

That hodge bump was deplorable even by Hawthorn standards. Unlike Gibbs, he wasn't in the course of doing anything legal, he went in with the sole intention to cause injury. Should have been given the Judd chicken wing treatment... must be a really really really great bloke

What Hodge showed was just how tough a player he is. Once again taking a cheap shot and getting off lightly.
The commentators worship this thug and carrying on about how tough he is. For mine he's a sniping coward.
Signed NC, Heavyweight Champion of the Cyber-world. No one, and I mean no one can beat up on a keyboard like me. I am the greatest. Think like a dolphin, type like a snail.

Would not think his coach would stand for such things would you.
