Oh my gosh you guys it's just his opinion. He's allowed an opinion you guys.

:rainbow:
Totally agree haso, a mayes ing 's opinionated post should not be whacked – but that is not to say people should not post replies pointing out inaccuracies or links to clarity...

· Dubai is in the northern hemisphere [their ‘winter’ is during our summer], hence their coolest 3 months of the year are December, January & February.

· For the record in the month of December BOTH Dubai and Brisbane share a December monthly average temperature of 26C

...even if it falls/fails somewhere between a Sarah Palin quote and a Tony Abbott wink.

The bit that always gets missed when somebody claims their right to an opinion is always that the opinion also has the right to be wrong, and that those around have a right to give the opinion and it's self-righteous owner a whack for it.

I'm afraid that it might have been missed that my initial post was drowning in sarcasm :(

Noooooooo.

so just for curiosity reasons... who are the elite runners, medium runners and not so good runners in our present squad?

I know that Rockliff and Redden are by no means quick players but how does he go in the 200 m sets and longer distances?

The mozzie squad members (Taylor, Zorko and Green) are obviously quick off the mark but does anyone know how they go in the longer distances? Taylor looks unbelievably fit to me... being on a modified program at the moment I presume he hasn't been doing much running?

Reading about this Noosa Camp where they do an Amazing Race type game, bubble soccer and some underwater rescue thing and paintballing.
I get he wants to do this family thing but l would feel more comfortable them training their butts off like all the other clubs. Port Adelaide went to Dubai to train in their ridiculous heat. You heard about all the Melbourne players saying they have never had a harder training session, physically.

Would prefer less games and more training.

I have more faith in Leppa's judgement than any outsider.

For Justin Leppitsch and his team, the five-day camp in popular tourist destination Noosa, is a chance to add another layer to the culture he's spent the past 14 months trying to ingrain.

"I know happy workers, whether that be staff or players, become motivated. If you're motivated you listen better, you have better output. That's the thing I push more than anything.

"When this club was going well, in my time, that's what we did well."

I'm pretty sure our best four are O'Brien, Close, Paparone and NRobbo. I think O'Brien is #1.

Yeah, that's about right. Although O'Brien, Robbo and Close have probably shared the bragging rights depending on the session.

The next bracket includes Zorko and Bewick with Mayes, Andrews and a couple of others not too far behind.

Down the other end, Bourke and Smith are clearly the worst two (when some of the coaches join in, they beat them both). Gardiner, Freeman and Clarke are probably the worst of the remaining talls and Adcock, Green and Harwood the worst of the smalls.

I used to live in East Melbourne, and walking around my area I used to be able to see the Dees and the Pies alternating training at Gosch's Paddock. Just as a point of comparison, I remember seeing the Dees a couple of pre-seasons ago, and they were terrible. Feckless. Unprofessional. Terrible.

I popped down to training last Wednesday, was very impressed. Brownie was taking the forwards - doing drills where they run back with the flight of the ball, get into position early, then mark in front of a pack. Saying things like, "Get into position early, otherwise you get your face caved in..."

In answer to your question though -- I don't have the first damn clue. Except to say Stefan Martin is quicker than I thought. He was doing sprints with Squizzy and holding his own. And Rocky, Pearce, and Dayne were doing repetitive 150m sprints. Each one they were doing ~ 20s, on 2 minute turnarounds. Rocky was about a second behind the other two. They had quite impressive interval tanks. I'm not sure how that translates into game running.

In short, we look as though we're really positive, have a good intensity. Pretty impressive all round.

Well if there was ever someone who would know:eek:
