I'm not sure Id be hanging Talia or Darley on the back of that. Redpath was very quiet but he's a guy that's going to rely on good supply from our mids that he didn't get on the weekend.

JJ has to play up the ground.

Minson hangs on by a thread. He seems so uninspired at the moment.

Good to see Honey play more good footy.

I can't fit Cordy, Minson and Redpath in to the same team. Same goes with Campbell. Undoubtedly there will be games where we might try it as they deserve games. I see Cordy as a better forward than Campbell but Campbell a better ruckman. So a Cordy/Minson combo for me is the best solution.

I was thinking Redpath & J Grant can fight for Crameri's spot. He with the greater endurance wins!

It's not out of the question for Redpath to take T.Boyd's spot early on.

Fair call. I like your team but I think, on what we've seen so far this pre-season, I'd have Redpath in before Cordy. Ayce would need to back up his performance against Collingwood this weekend to push Redpath out for mine. I guess you might be of the "always play two established ruckman" persuasion, whereas I'm not.

Promising signs so far this year from Ayce though, and we really need him to become a decent AFL player to secure our ruck stocks going forward (not to mention the first round draft pick we've so far burnt on him.)

I also think Caleb Daniel is in the mix. He is a creative link up player I prefer to JJ, even though he doesn't have speed of foot, disposals are just too good to ignore. Perhaps he misses round 1, but think he will play 10+ games this year

Decided to bite the bullet and put 2 rucks + Boyd and Redpath in the starting side making it an absolutely massive team. Minno gets the chop.

One of the rucks or T.Boyd/Redpath to be subbed off or if a tall defender is getting smashed then we swap big red into defence.

* Thought jong shows good forward traits so he can play 30/70 forward mid, swapping with Stringer in that role plus create some good forward pressure with his speed.

Hunter as the sub can play purely as a mid when he comes on should have the tank to run at least a half out at full tilt.

I'm loving Hamling's preseason but I'm sticking with Talia for now. I don't know how I haven't found room for Stevens, but I wanted dual rucks and I wasn't sure who else to take out. Want to see Webb come in relatively early too, Footscray form permitting.

Keen to see Ayce get a big run at it as the second ruck.

Both Campbell and Cordy can rest forward and give a contest. Cordy did float back on the weekend and defended okay as well.

Minson on the other hand is a bench warmer when he's not in the middle. I don't know what his problem is, but his fall from AA two years ago to where he is now is astounding. Only time he seemed to give a rats on the weekend was with 20mins to go and showed some balls in the middle.

Those calling for Ayce Cordy / Campbell duo instead of Minson....can they advise if Ayce marks over his head any better than Minson, or is he similar to Minson (ie shithouse?). If as I suspect shithouse is the case then what is gained by slowing the team down with two bigs and no demonstrable fwd line gain and possibly an on the ball loss?

As has been said a few times, don't judge Will on preseason form - it's been poor for many years. He needs something to play for. He's still miles ahead of the other two. They need to prove they're worthy of the job. And neither have yet.
