There's a number of ways.

Bennell's interesting. He's an extremely gifted young player who has had well publicised off-field issues.
This means we can get him cheaper than other players of his ilk.

Would, for example, trading a first round pick packaged up with a future pick be a risk? Sure, but every trade or draft pick has an element of risk to it.

Bennell could complement our side and be a great addition to the team for the next 8 or so years.

He has in a lot of ways been the face of the cultural issues at the Gold Coast Suns. The biggest risks we would face is that he might create bad publicity every now and then or he could be a bad influence on some of our impressionable youngsters. But I doubt a group loaded with multiple premiership winning players are all angels off the field, so maybe he'll simply slot in and become another hard-working Hawk.

We've got an incredibly strong culture and we've been able to reign in the majority of 'bad eggs' that have walked through the hallways at Waverley over the years. Luke Hodge was no choir boy at 21 himself.

I'd be happy for us to go for him at the right price. High risk, high reward. Collingwood, GWS, Bulldogs, Richmond and others are all adding young stars to their team, so should we. If it doesn't work out so be it.

You never know, we might only be in the conversation to drive his value up.

He would at times but like with all of our players we would use him in multiple roles.

I'm hoping this happens. The opportunity (if the rumour is true) to bring in a player of Harley's quality is rare. Worth the risk imo.

I think the issue is his tank! I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain I read somehere he hasn't got elite aerobic ability? If he was an elite runner he'd be perm mid rotating forward.

Can't imagine the white powder he was alleged to have snorted would be too good for his aerobic capacity. However I'm sure his fitness is something which would improve in the right environment.

I'm all for giving guys a second chance and if this rumour is true and we can get him at the right price then we should. He is potentially far better than anyone we would get with pick 18.

I don't really care how reliable barret and co are, it makes massive sense to me, something i've been keeping my eye on so when he is linked that is validation enough.

Reminds me a bit of when dustin martin was being shipped around by the tiges, we should have gone after him, his tank has improved and he is a game changer.

Benell is the same but with a higher cieling, if he has been just coasting along, partying in a team where up until this year his impact means little imagine the upside in him when he works hard with the possibility to win a flag.
