Watts is 196cm. Could be insurance over the next few years as a backup forward. Is one of the better kicks in the league as well.

They're both very much hot and cold players. Brisbane will look at alternating them in the team and hope like hell that both are better than luke-warm when they get their go in the seniors. But, if they get the sequence wrong, cue the Benny Hill soundtrack.Surely given they recruited Walker they don't need Grimley?
LolBirdseye are going to transplant in a actual pea as part of a lucrative promotion. The pea is said to be 10x larger than Watt's heart.
Ahh.. My topic of choice keeps popping upMatthew Watson doesn't strike me as an AFL-level forward and I can only guess he was tried as a forward because his progression as a backman had stalled. I actually typed "hackman" just now which probably sums up what I think about him. With some intensive individual coaching and work on his part he might make it, but if he's just adopted by another club to become a squad member plugging the occasional gap in the seniors then I think his career will be short lived.
Did he play most of his VFL games forward or back Rocket? When I first saw Matthew Watson I thought he had the tools but not the attitude. This year I saw some good games from him in the VFL, really surprised that he has been de-listed. Any chance he'd suit us as backup KP?

Would be hilarious if we picked up Watson and turned both he and Fitzy (delistees from 2 of the worst sides of the past decade) into decent players who both get a premiership medallion next year.
It's like Clarko and the other Hawthorn footy staff sit around sipping whiskey and smoking cigars after each flag and devise progressively more ridiculous challenges for the next flag.
"OK guys I've put the names of every delisted player from the bottom 6 sides on this board, which ever one the dart hits we'll turn into a premiership player!"
Watson has the turning circle of the titanic and the speed of a snail. If the game was standing there with an enormous head relative to his body then he would be great.
Watson would do well at South Adelaide.
Or Pennant Hills.
To be fair on Watson, he's been developed by Carlton. Schoey's come good now, but that's with a few years of being at Hawthorn. Watson was doomed from the start.I'm still reeling from the Watson mentions. Guy is not an AFL standard player. He's like Schoenmakers but a bit worse in just about every way.
lol!Or as a Moomba float.
He was played in the defence at Carlton, which is somewhat akin to standing in front of an archery target and being told to catch the arrowsTo be fair on Watson, he's been developed by Carlton. Sodebottom would be the Holy Grail. Brown wouldn't be a bad option if Gibson gave it up.

Haven't heard any further updates regarding the Irish lad Connor Glass. Not a lot of information about him, but he would come on-board as a Cat B Rookie. So potentially could have a pair of flaming red-heads in the centre square if Clayton Oliver finds his way to Waverley!
Also - little news on wheather Siope Ngata will stick with AFL, or stick with union.
Will be interesting to see if Wrighty and the recruitment staff opt to shorten the primary list and lock in a couple of extra rookies in order to save some cash. Perhaps building a war chest to go after a premium mid next year via trade or FA.
I had a search on the web yesterday, and saw some footage of him playing union, and he looks awsome (i don't generally use that description ) quick & powerfull. But i doubt we will get him as his dream is to be an all black. He must have mentioned it a few times.
Hopefully we can get him.
As a free agent, with our ageing midfield, Sidebottom would be an amazing addition.Christ, we have low standards here!

Surely a pipedream? When was the last time a Collingwood player crossed to Hawthorn? I actually can't recall one.
I very much doubt it will happen. Just enticing to have Sidey's name on the FA list.
