I suspect we will chase quality young midfielders (under 23's) moving forward and not guys like Sidey.

Woods, HassellSurely a pipedream? When was the last time a Collingwood player crossed to Hawthorn? I actually can't recall one.
Woods, Hassell
Johnny Hassell, gee he was small.. Played at Greenvale for years, was a similar player there as he was at Hawthorn.
We also got the great Bo Nixon
Well how the feck are they going to be able to pay all these guys? Surely our cash would easily surpass the Pie offer? Anyway, one can dream, he is a brilliant player albeit very very outside.
There has also been some interest from Wingfield Royals.Mirboo North might give him a run.
We should be targeting the likes of O'Meara and Prestia and that's it
Ahh.. My topic of choice keeps popping up
I couldn't agree more in that if he's taken as a stop gap player he's done. He has said himself that there are things that can be improved in his game; speed, agility, dropping a few kgs are all things that can be changed during pre season to maximise his potential.
Did he play most of his VFL games forward or back Rocket?
Cegs? Or was that more a case of him being delisted by the Pies and we picked him up?Surely a pipedream? When was the last time a Collingwood player crossed to Hawthorn? I actually can't recall one.
Caroline Springs is recruiting ;-)Mirboo North might give him a run.

Kevin Coghlan, in the 50s, Ian Bremner in the late 60s, and more recently ruckmen Brock and Cegs. There may be more. However our best pie import is Gavin Wright.
What about Graham Wright?

He was a handy pick up.Tony Woods?
so, two wrights was wrong? That's age catching up, MB, typed Gavin, wrong Wright, right?
As a free agent, with our ageing midfield, Sidebottom would be an amazing addition.

He would be an okay addition. He doesn't fill the need for an elite midfielder to replace Hodge/Mitchell. He's more on the Shiels level, which is nice, but he's probably not the guy who leads your midfield to a premiership.
Guess I rate him more than most here. He's not the elite bottom of a pack type we're gonna need but he makes everything run much more smoothly.
The 'holy grail' better do a lot more than make everything run more smoothly! I'm not saying he's not a good player, but for the amount he'll cost, and the fact he won't be that midfield leader, he really isn't the pinnacle of who we should target.
Came down to training at the junior team that I coach not long after the Lewis hit and asked him about it. He responded "At least each time he is getting closer to the ball" hahahaMaybe Goldstein will join us to avoid getting punched in the head by Lewis every time he plays us.
