Its Richmond. Bad management is their philosophy. Nearly lost Conca to salary cap pressure.

How much are they paying Hampson to play in the 2nd's? ??? :) ... and for three years too! .. great f'ing move!!!!

... He was S$#@ at Carlton ... and worse at Richmond ... only thing good about him is his Mrs! o_O

Nearly lost Conca to cap pressure ? Rubbish. We have been freeing cap space for a good 4 years now. We rolled the dice, even with Martin and Conca which was in the same period. Play for us on $$ we say or leave. We needed to do it to repair the damage in the Miller/Wallace years. The days of bad management are long gone now. We would have have made our 10th straight year in the black if that was not the case.
IT was widely reported at the end of last season when you were resigning players like Martin and Conca. Maybe you are right but I can only go with what is in the public domain. Your club's lack of activity in the recent trade period doesn't exactly scream cap space either. I guess we will see at the end of next season when Rance and Conca both come out of contract (assuming they don't re-sign earlier) of you have space in the cap to hold onto them.

I think you underestimated the value he holds capt the RFC. In his two years as skipper we ve played finals both times, premiership glory is his destiny.
You've made finals, I'm not sure "played" is the word you should use.

If Cotchin was smart he'd have held off talks to see if Richmond are going to implode again after 5 rounds, just as they have done so many times over last 30 years.

I over estimated his intelligence to sit back and make an informed decision.

If Richmond fail for another 5 years, then he should blame himself for not jumping when he had the chance.

U underestimated him again, with Rance and Maric and lids he lead the team to finals from the most dire position in football history , our club has never been better positioned in 30 years , they won't leave., you've had your time in the sun continue to focus on melb and gws dregs seeking salvation

Look out, this one's got the eye of the Tiger. Roar....

Hahah, oh dear....what you meant to say was lead the team to two straight finals losses. 0-2.

Yes we are enjoying our time in the sun, its a pity you're not even close to having one, Chaplin and Hampson......really!

I'm really confused. You say premiership glory is his destiny but didn't he just sign a long term contract with the Tigers?

Either an obvious troll or extremely delusional. There is absolutely zero chance that Richmond will win a GF or even make it to a GF with the list there now, even with Dangerfield on board (extremely unlikely in it's own right) there are too many holes in the list and psychological doubts of the group-think of that club. If it gets too good someone will find a way to ruin it.

I pictured SLB's avatar after reading this.

Isn't that just wearing a Richmond jumper?

Lol, what list are you talking 1983 or 2014, our win loss last two seasons which this list can account for is 60%. With 7 teenagers added to the list , we will only improve , teams that win nine in a row in this era can't be underestimated

I know - did you know we won 12 in a row in 2013 (and went on to win the flag) and over the back end of 2013 and start of 2014 we also won 9 in a row and well we became back to back premiers.

In fact every single time we have won 9 games in a row we have gone on to win the flag (including both 88-89 & 13-14 where the win streak was stretched over seasons).

How did your 9 win in a row streak end for you guys?

Unless of course that team is a perennial joke, who flirt with getting their shit together.

Yup, every team with added teenagers always improves. That's why St Kilda and GWS went so well this year.

Lol , this perennial list has only been around for a few seasons and look to have buried a few skeletons , don't blame them for circa 1983-2010
How many times have you told yourself this in the last 30 years?

All of the above conversation is tantalising however lets go back to Trent Cotchin and use him as the subject matter.
Is he loyal for his actions? or has he simply taken a soft option that will see him earn the $$$ his management states he rightly deserves for all those INDIVIDUAL honours he has/can achieve.

As he is the subject matter, and if he came to Hawthorn, where in the pecking order would he be? I would have him at best 6th maybe 7th (depends how you rate Gibbo). At Richmond, he is captain and numero uno. Does one maintain that mantle and the easy life? or push himself further at a successful club hoping he too(when retired), can walk into a room and be introduced as a premiership player?

I think the word loyalty is misguided and truly believe it is a soft and easy option. As in the manner in which Cotchin gains his possessions he has taken the soft and easy option and like Echols has stated, knowing the history of Richmond he should have waited to ensure another implosion wasn't on the cards. For reality is that Hardwick was a few losses away from retrenchment.

And with the above in mind, hawks fans should embrace O'Rourke and especially Frawley, for he could have put the Demons to their knees, got his King's ransom and simply played out a fruitless career until retirement. Instead he has chosen to challenge himself in the name of glory and success.

As a father of 2 little ones, I appreciate your username and avatar.

Yeah, okay, we're going a little over the top with the Richmond bashing now. We've got a few guys coming in who have remained remarkably restrained and jovial and rolling with the punches being dealt out, but some remarks are undeserved. Every supporter deserves the right to believe their team is on the right path and some remarks, including my own, are probably over the top. We're starting to sound like a bunch of tossers.

Retaining Cotchin is important for the Tiges and his loyalty to stay a one club man should be congratulated and respected. They have a good coach in place and are building a stronger list year by year. I look forward to finally meeting the Tigers in the finals because, let's face it, you've been ducking us for decades, you pricks. :p

Were 3 of those 9 wins against St Kilda or was it just the two?
