You must have missed the WC game were Silvagni had his bum handed to him by their big forwards. Silvagni is cover if one of Luke,Zac or possibly Johnno is out. Get used to it Silvagni as much as we all like him is a fringe player.

Beautiful morning in the warm sun watching the boys run around. Highlight was Fyfe signing autographs and posing for photos for a big group of fans .
Fyfe had an ice pack on the injury but apart from that looked OK.He didn't partake in any of the training. Pav and Connor spent the session on exercise bikes in the sun watching training,Pav looked fine. Crosier and Luke poked their heads out of the gym to have a look but that was the most we saw of them.Spurr and Sonny ran laps.
The rest of the squad had a full session incl match sims. Silvagni and Crowls trained well ,Sandi practised above head marking .All the players where in good spirits with even Ross giving a wave to the fans.

But the important question is.. did you give Fyfe a hug for me?


and on the Silvagni thing... If Macca doesn't come up I'd rather put A Pearce in.

Sorry to say but SOS no way in hell is coming into the team - he is slow in decision making and gives away too many free kicks close to goal.

Silvagni played well last year in the finals on buddy. he has played well in the past and if he was match hardened he would be a viable choice to replace dawson. but lets look at Alex's season as a whole. has been defined by injury and then suspension when he got his chance. just not enough continuity to justify the risk at this stage. Even Dawson has played more afl football this year . no use bitching about Dawson, his limitations have been on show since he got here. his strengths are what gets him a game. i prefer Alex if he was on top of his game from a competitive standpoint but that clearly aint the case atm

Can see A. Pearce replacing/filling in for McPharlin next season and beyond. He takes the game on more and has better kicking. Dawson will be around another couple seasons so that helps Alex a fair bit. Silvagni has always been able to have the great games then fades badly the week after He attacks the ball hard but when going for the marks/spoils he does the stupid brain fades that pisses me off no end.
