Brodie looks so slow lol, I like him but I don't agree that his speed is ok. Often quick kids look less quick once getting to afl level, he looks pretty slow at u18 level...
for a pure inside mid its about average. I don't think he will be close to a liability as priddis is when his opponent has the ball. Brodie IMO is just the player we need. considering we have quality user in shuey, sheed, duggan and gaff, we now need a few fex extractors that can feed them.

I want to put faith in our recruiters and trust that they know what they're doing but 3 things concern me that cast doubts on their judgement-

They've apparently ruled out SPP for our first pick - sure there are other players that may be better at that pick but I don't see how the likes of galluci, berry, Brodie etc are that much better that we'd be ruling out Powell-pepper pre-draft

Talk is that we will only be using 4 picks when we can use 5 - why delay a pick and risk players you rate being taken before our first rookie draft pick

Petrie is still not only on the table but the jungle drums are that we will take him. It's a backward move that should have been put to bed as soon as we traded for Vardy

Apart from this there is no conjecture that has any credence so I worry that since the only 3 things that seem accurate are dumb the rest of the path will be more of the same

agreed. and for rawlings to say that recruiting jetta, redden, and Mitchell has addressed our midfield needs, is ridiculous.

I think we will still take a young ruck if there is one available at one of our later picks. If we dont end up with Petrie it will be the ultimate master troll from our club

lol settle down.

I like Bolton because I think he offers something to our list which we don't have and would add an extra dimension to our forward line.

If your question was only about Bolton then your hard on for Gallucci wasn't needed.

So would any half decent small forward to be fair. I rate Bolton too but jumping on him at 14 would be crazy. Taking him over Gallucci or English as you suggested when he's a chance to be there at 40 is even more so, which is why I mentioned JG.

Haha, yes my 'hard on' for Gallucci, what a mature response. I've said previously JG isn't even my first preference for our pick. I began posting about him to offer another perspective in this thread other than comparing him to Partington, which as others have said, is a poor judgment.

I sing the Bondi Hipsters' bus song:

You know me
I'm the SPP
Who cares if I'm a reach
I suit the Eagles to a tee

Really like the look of Rotham if he lasts to our second. Love his speed, agility and aggressive running.

Rotham and Cole running off the HB line would be great to see!

Wouldn't be unhappy with Berry - high impact player IMO who doesn't need many touches to make a difference. Don't think we've had a player like him - Big, powerful, dynamic, quick. Would compliment our young midfield group quite well.

Who knows what he could develop into - has all the tools.
