Minor premiers, the Sydney Swans, renew hostilities against cross-town rival Greater Western Sydney in the first qualifying final at ANZ Stadium on Saturday, September 10 at 3.20pm EST.

Giants coach Leon Cameron's men will embark on their first finals series since joining the AFL in 2012.

The Swans enter the clash having annihilated Richmond by 113 points at the SCG on Saturday, while the Giants also tasted victory in round 23 with a 37-point triumph over injury-hit North Melbourne.

On Thursday, the AFL reached an agreement with ANZ Stadium to play the Swans' home finals at the SCG, with the exception of a Sydney derby, given the game will likely attract a crowd in excess of the 48,000 capacity at the SCG.

Literally the last team in the league I wanted the Swans to face in the first final. Only team in 2016 that has made us look non-competitive.
Tippett did go down, sadly, in that game and that did make a difference. I just hope our mids are licenced to take the man on, and run and spread. Would personally rather we went down swinging than trying not to lose. In Leon we trust though, and whatever he reckons is undoubtably wise.

What's ANZ's events schedule for the next 2 weeks look like?
That could have a massive impact on the quality of the surface.

OK Giants, we've been humoring you for a while and saying that there's no real rivalry and that we don't mind seeing you win for the benefit of NSW footy but shit just got real. We're going to belt you campaigners so hard you'll think it's 2012 all over again.

This is probably not giving GWS it's due but we looked as flat as a tack after that slog in the swimming pool against GC. You just ran us off our feet and we didn't have the energy to go with you. I feel like with a week off for both sides and a slightly speedier group now we can stick with you in that department.

Quietly confident but slightly nervous all the same. Giants' best is scary good.

NRL has one round to go - one game on the Friday night. Finals fixture hasnt been released, but im guessing no saturday game expected. If they play Friday night though, that might be screwy.

Your post would work a lot better if you could match us for talent, club integrity and quality of Coaching. Ah,
Almost forgot list management. Tks again for Mummy BTW.

No idea, but I was there yesterday for the California v Hawaii college football thing, with the sides in wrecking the grass on the wings, and all sorts of fencing, and posts, and advertising hordings and stuff, so it will take a bit to recover for that I would have thought (particularly the seats being in over the wings)

What? List management? Having all the first round picks is shooting fish in barrel

Tippett going down that day didnt help at all,

We will win this, but loser massive chance to get through to the granny still.

Provided the afl dont rub naismith out for tackling we will win the ruck battle.

I respect them but am very confident

Now lets just wait 2 friggen weeks ..yawn

Tks again for mummy I repeat. Guessing Hannebury, Kennedy et all will trying to keep out of his way.

Thats ok, make a grand final , maybe mumford will show up this time

You'd probably see that the Raiders will play the Friday night game against the Sharks in Canberra.

Brisbane will hold a Saturday and a Sunday final. ANZ might get one game on the Sunday. It's not going to be a Friday night game though.

Rugby league finals start same weekend as the match. So will not be AFL standard. Nor NEAFL standard for that matter.

Don't you mean 64,998?

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2016-08-25/hawks-overtake-pies-to-top-membership-ladder

I don't know how they get 65,000 when their own figures are 56,523 + 15,312 = 71,835.

Will be interesting to see how many turn up. I'm sure the SCG could have coped.

Im not sure who all the neutrals are coming along
But oh well we play ANZ well and its the same for both clubs going in, just hope it is not chopped up and causes an injury to either side

But aside from that it was always meant to be finals at ANZ so it is what it is
