This is such an immature and namby pamby thing to say. It's as though all criticism is void. "Sorry Roger Ebert – don't give Adam Sandler a scathing review, I bet you don't couldn't make millions at the box office." Sure I think it's very ironic for fat blokes on their lunch breaks to be calling certain players 'lazy' or whatever, but not being able to question decisions because you're not the coach/haven't played AFL is just odd.
You also must have a short memory because I have never liked Tabs. I have no idea why the coaching staff were continually gifting him starts but taking him off after he didn't do enough. How is the guy going to react? Essentially no matter how little he contributes, he'll automatically be in the 21 the next weekend. I don't think subbing him off is some sort of scathing warning to the bloke.
You're deluded if you think Taberner is ever going to be a key forward gun. I watched some of the scratchie in Mandurah and the bloke dropped about three simple marks – again. He hears footstops and his heart starts racing, his arms spaghetti, shirt spaghetti, mum's spaghetti.
The quote from above 'I have no idea' pretty much sums up your argument. The fact that Tabs gets to as many contests as he does is actually a really strong positive for such a young forward. He doesn't have to be a world beater to make our team better, but if he can get to lots of contests it brings others into the game he improves our team. No one is actually saying they think he is outstanding, but rather he is capable of contributing to the team.
I have been a Fremantle since day one and Im calling total bullshit that the same thing applies to you. By reading your other posts it would make you three or four years old at best when we came into the competition in 95 if that was actually the case.
