This is such an immature and namby pamby thing to say. It's as though all criticism is void. "Sorry Roger Ebert – don't give Adam Sandler a scathing review, I bet you don't couldn't make millions at the box office." Sure I think it's very ironic for fat blokes on their lunch breaks to be calling certain players 'lazy' or whatever, but not being able to question decisions because you're not the coach/haven't played AFL is just odd.

You also must have a short memory because I have never liked Tabs. I have no idea why the coaching staff were continually gifting him starts but taking him off after he didn't do enough. How is the guy going to react? Essentially no matter how little he contributes, he'll automatically be in the 21 the next weekend. I don't think subbing him off is some sort of scathing warning to the bloke.

You're deluded if you think Taberner is ever going to be a key forward gun. I watched some of the scratchie in Mandurah and the bloke dropped about three simple marks – again. He hears footstops and his heart starts racing, his arms spaghetti, shirt spaghetti, mum's spaghetti.

The quote from above 'I have no idea' pretty much sums up your argument. The fact that Tabs gets to as many contests as he does is actually a really strong positive for such a young forward. He doesn't have to be a world beater to make our team better, but if he can get to lots of contests it brings others into the game he improves our team. No one is actually saying they think he is outstanding, but rather he is capable of contributing to the team.

I have been a Fremantle since day one and Im calling total bullshit that the same thing applies to you. By reading your other posts it would make you three or four years old at best when we came into the competition in 95 if that was actually the case.

No worries. It must be a nice life to be so chuffed with mediocrity and being so happy with the club bobbing along, still not winning a flag, and playing a gormless girl at full forward who's scared of his own shadow.

I saw a 70 kilo Kayne Turner, 15 centimetres shorter than Tabs, put his body on the line and play with more heart and conviction in his very first game. Some players are mentally tough and up for the challenge, and others tighten up at the sound of chewy on your boot. If you're happy with Taberner then that says everything about you as a fan: no questions asked, happy go lucky, content with shitness.

So long as Ross Lyon is coaching a team with Tabs in it, Freo will win squat.

I can't wait to see a younger full back tear Taberner apart this season.

Apeness is the only one with half a chance.

That just about sums you up, you can't wait to see one of our players smashed to satisfy your pathetic ego so you can say "see, I was right".

Not sure about anyone else on here but I can't wait to see you **** off for good.

Exhibit A:( in the above post demonstrating a truly clueless poster. I will bet you anything you have not seen Apeness play apart from the two AFL games where he didn't kick a goal. Tabs shows a ton more unless you watch footy blindfolded. The above post demonstrates why you are such a failure as a 'supporter.'. You would rather see Tabs fail to be proven right than have him succeed.

Again, you must be pretty insecure to have to lie to attempt to make a point. Zero chance you have supported the team since day 1 and highly likely you are a West Toast troll.

It must be a hard life being so negative, and looking for any excuse to bring down everything around you - while deep down wanting them to succeed. You obviously craft your posts for maximum venom. Perhaps you secretly enjoy bringing people down a peg, and get off on the attention you get? Perhaps that's why you escalate to the main boards? To increase the amount of support you get to your flawed views - like flies to a piece of shit.

There's research around the damage negative thinking does to your brain -
I suggest getting some help.

While you may think that everyone here is stupid and naieve - I think it's that we simply accept that we have no control over the club, and just enjoy the ride. Discussing things from what could go right, rather that nitpicking everything that could go wrong. Either way - you're the one that has to live with yourself ;)

I used to think that you provided an alternative viewpoint to discussions, and some good counterpoints. But it's been a while since you even remotely contributed anything worth reading. So - congratulations on being the second person ever on the ignore list. I don't need you in my life, and I doubt many others want you either.

It is the level of stupidity in the Silent Alarm posts that I find the most annoying. The recent posts being a prime example. Seriously, a key position player we drafted as a rookie is not the finished product at age 22. Thanks 'Captain Friggin Obvious'. Im not sure why that doesn't mean we can't support a player on the improve who is well on his way to being a contributor. Tabs doesn't have to star to be a success. He only has to develop into a player who contributes to a winning team. The amount of time SA posts something along the lines of 'you accept mediocrity', and then posts an opinion that demonstrates zero footy IQ whatsoever is astounding.

Im sure the response will be along the line of "Your opinions don't bother me'. Well good, don't post your clearly West Toast troll rubbish here then. Im not sure why such an obvious opposition supporter troll hasn't been banned permanently from the Freo board.

I just got back from spending a lovely morning with my little girl down at the river to arrive home and read this insult.

I wasn't trying to be childish in my response to ydraw but to highlight that Ross is the coach and he is backing Tabs in.

He's played well for Peel. I like Salim and a number of other posters watch him each week. At AFL he's been a mix bag and has lacked confidence.

I'm glad you're not my footy coach when I was younger. I went from struggling to get a kick in the league and ressies in my first few years to having the coaches back me in and becoming a regular league player. Imagine if they just gave up on me? Imagine if Ross gives up on Tabs?

I hope Freo wins the flag this year and I know Tabs will bust his gut to get a game.

I don't have depression at all. In fact this snide post is basically joking about mental illness. I know the AFL abuses mental illness for Lyon and Buddy cover-ups, or for simply excusing all behaviour (a prominent Cat-should've been a Docker), but I certainly don't think other such abuse towards it is necessary.

I hope you take this 'happy brain, happy life' scenario to everything in your life. Maybe you'll end up like a happy Billy Brownless!

You have misinterpreted what Arc has posted. You may need to re-read it. Believe me Arc wouldn't joke about mental illness in fact he has been a great companion for me along my journey to getting myself back on track.

Yeah it's a bit different when you're some irrelevant club in the suburbs, and when you're a professional club constantly failing so close to the finish line of a premiership.

The negatives of you getting a game and playing poorly is nothing in comparison to Taberner doing **** all every game.

I remember when Lachie Neale played a terrible match against the Tigers. He'd barely played 20 matches and the pitchforks were out – quite piss funny actually how so many people roasting the kid are now the ones applauding Tabs. Says something about football knowledge. Anyway, it was obvious Lachie's issues stemmed from a lack of adjustment: he was getting chased down, feeling the pressure of players being able to run and approach faster, he didn't know how to work the expanses of the 'G, and he was lost amongst the extra pace and the few less seconds and centimetres you get. A lack of awareness was his pitfall. I said this.

Taberner's issues are simply a terrible lack of confidence and an inherent timidness. This is the way some people are – people don't change that much, this intimidation is something you're brought up with. One of the Hill brothers has it, and as a result he goes missing too often and shirks a tackle. I know people love him and I like him as well, but the reality is, some players love the big stage and others hate even the small one. Tabs is just not of the mentality to have the arrogance to say, 'shit, I don't care how many games you've played or flags you won – I deserve to be here, I'm bigger than you, I'm going to have a field day.' He just does not have it in him.

And I do not see enough of Taberner's apparently fantastic leads and marks to warrant those downfalls. People talk it up, by most of his goals come through free kicks and Joe the Gooses. His apparent good traits are simply mediocre and not enough to pull him through. I don't see any improvement at all in the guy – he is still just as timid, still has the same limited impact on a game. It's shit.

I wrote something a little more angry but the fact I am now ignored means I read his 'help' as a bit disingenuous. I don't appreciate someone on the internet, who doesn't know the real me, imply I have a mental illness. It's a little uncouth.

I don't mean to be nasty or offend anyone – I'll attack Fremantle FC, but people will take their club as themselves and feel hurt or angered, or just plain antagonised by it.

Some stuff has happened in the past few seconds that's made me realise our own dramas and lives are more important the bickering of a football forum.

Football is the ultimate distraction. I like getting angry at a club because I'm lucky enough to not feel angry, sad, or disappointed to a major extent in my other parts of life.

Sorry.

A player who isn't capable of playing AFL wouldn'thave dominated CHF against the Hawks and then been awarded a NAB rising star the following match.

He may end up as a back up KPF but to write him off just yet is ridiculous.

I just think it's a little scary we've invested a lot in a potential back-up. I dunno. When he's the only KPF getting games, it's a bit hard to not look at the drafting and trading and wonder why he's the only option. It's not really his faults, I'm sure he's a nice guy, but he shouldn't be the great white hope he now is.

He is not responding to the real you, he is responding to the internet version of you who seems like a sad, needy little prat. I'm sure in real life you're not, but don't come on here with this faux tough guy persona then cry like a little bitch when you are called on it.

Yes you do - calling people sycophants, pencil necks and idiots is offensive. You attack the club, you attack members of the coaching and management staff, you attack individual players and you attack other posters. Don't pretend otherwise.

I think you missed the fact that Apeness has been injured. Both Sheriff and JMT has mentioned this. Ross is playing him because Freo haven't got the options. A Pearce might be one but he's been great fown back and has also been injured.

Well there's something wrong with you SA. Maybe it's just your online persona, and in real life you are a together young man who doesn't have to abuse those who don't agree with you ( ie everyone) and claim that they are satisfied with mediocrity. I hope so.

In the last few seconds? Give it a minute.

I don't dislike you as a person and it's good to get different view points. It makes these forums interesting. I do get frustrated with some of your posts when I read you criticising the club.

If that sorry was for me then thanks.

That 'irrelevant club' we both played for. The same club that has a number of young players go on and play WAFL in previous seasons and now has one of the greats of South Freo Cliff Collard move from South Ressies coaching position to coach our club.

The problem you have is you have little respect for others and that's why so many posters don't respect you.

There is no excuse for being as much of a total complete twat as you are on here. People have actually been harmed in real life for the way others act on online forums. The above post screams 'lame cop-out.'

Your views are as beyond idiotic as it gets on an online forum as you seem incapable of arguing anyone on point to even a minor degree. This is a place for Fremantle supporters not West Coast trolls. Bugger off and go to your teams board.

Dead right JMT, I wouldn't joke about mental illness. Without seeing what SA posted, I hope he didn't cry and use that as a cheap cop-out defense.

I haven't hidden on these boards the fact that I went through a rough patch a few years ago when someone close to me passed away suddenly. There's a thread on the board somewhere where I apologised to everyone for being a bit of an arseh*le during that time. There's a difference though between being an arseh*le, and why. The WHY was grief and depression, that doesn't excuse the WHAT.

I don't care WHY SA is the way he is - if it's just an internet persona, whether he's an attention whore that loves the feeling of power derived from others misery, or whether there is some deeper life issues. I can only respond to WHAT he posts. In the end it's his choice how he chooses to interact with people, and he can suck it up with the response he gets. I was just suggesting that if he doesn't like the response - he might want to consider his world view, and the filter he applies that dictates how he interacts with everyone, as per the articles suggested.

And SA if you're reading this - if you don't like the reaction, change your actions. I'm done with you.

For the mods - another study for you - How, when and why bad apples spoil the barrel: negative group members and dysfunctional groups. If you happen to think that it has no impact on the engagement of the whole.
