He is a very fluid kick of the ball, it's a sometimes lazy ball drop that can mean they spray. Nothing that won't be tightened up in an AFL environment.

Also prospect videos on youtube aren't highlight videos as such, they are just clips of the player's involvement, mistakes and everything. Watch the last quarter of the TAC Cup GF (giantroo uploaded it), he was in everything and barely missed a target.

From all of the videos I've seen on here, Venables = The Terry , looks fantastic. If we don't get him then I will be keen to keep an eye on him as he progresses.

Agree he looks good, but we really do specialise in taking those low-possession half forward types who just show glimpses (Garner, Harper, Anderson)

Yeah been a Venables fan for a while now but got a feeling we won't pick him.

Spot on.

We need a couple of accumulators who do something with the pill when they get it, blokes who get 25 touches on a bad day and 40 on a good one.

I know it's only 1 bloke's thoughts, but Chris25 (on the drafts board) has interetsing thoughts re: this year's batch of inside mids:

"In putting together my draft, I'm not a big fan of the contested midfielders outside of the first round. Brodie really is at the top by himself, then there's a big drop off to the likes of Clarke, Graham and Scheer. If you were to pass on Brodie, then you might as well give up on drafting an inside midfielder this year. The draft has depth in outside types, small forwards and utilities".

Rather than editing ... I found two examples in Rockliff and bloody Dangerfield this season. Goddamn it.
Guys like Parker, Neale, Ablett, Hunter, Vince, Sloane etc they always seem like they cut us to shreds.

We don't have that type of 'damaging' midfielder. I hope we snare at least two this draft, not a couple of HBF'ers like TD said.

I really want the club to take a risk with their first pick. We are really good at drafting limited B graders, so if we took an undersized mid who doesn't have a single elite trait with our first pick, I'd be pretty upset. We can get those types later.

The club needs to swing for the fences with a Venables or Hayward type.

Anyone other than Simpkin and Venables is a disaster for us. Florent OK too I guess, but the other 2 are game changers which we need.
Starting a bit early aren't you? Don't want to even wait until we've drafted someone before suggesting they're no good? But, but they'll be youth.

Hmmmm, so his closest capital city is Adelaide. Played SANFL. ... ... Part of ... GWS ... A ... cad ... e ... my ... ... ... OK, sounds legit.
The GWS Academy is a joke. Hopper played for North Ballarat, Setterfield played for Sandringham and there are a few others that play for VIC TAC Cup teams and yet get put in the GWS Academy.
