Those home losses to the bombers in 2012 and 2013 make me angry. I was full of praise for the Bombers after those performances, especially running over us in the 2013 thriller.

Pretty stupid decision by Hooker to stay at the Bombers really.

You could say hindsight is a wonderful thing but this was always a good chance of happening.
The Watsons are the kings of Kool-aid, they be getting the players around now and saying 'shh shh everything is fine. We are all fine, its gonna be ok.' Thet truth is its serious basket case time for that 'club' for a good while.

I wonder will they get further draft sanctions. They shouldn't be allowed to profit from this with early draft picks, assuming they finish bottom.

Feel for their supporters. The AFL administration shown up to be inept at handling their own mess.
Actually the AFL tried to help Essendon out at every stage. The issue lies with the fact that Hird would not accept the facts and bought Little on to fight every step of the way.

In reading the interim report anyone with half a brain could deduce that apart from other banned substances that were possibly taken the players had in all liklihood and with a strong evidence chain been given TB4.

At that point Essendon should have rolled over. Sacked Hird, the board resigned and the players taken a ban for the first month or so of the following season.

But Hird convinced the board to be stupid and fight.

The AFL's issues arose as the tribunal made one of the most bizarre decisions ever and cleared them. If that was under direction then the AFL has issues. Remember you can only do so much when some idiot insists on taking you to court every five minutes.

Operation get Hooker

You might have some mates and ties to the club, but the club has just f%%d you - you wouldn't want to stick around.

Would be a great replacement for Johno / Dawson

Everyone at that club lost the plot but at the end of the day these guys are young husbands, brothers, sons, father's who have been through hell and back and now had the axe fall on life as they know it. Pretty bloody harsh because they ended up at a dodgy club with a dodgy coach and dodgy administrators. I feel seriously bad for them and a little empathy wouldn't go astray with some of you guys as well.

I don't, and the CAS panel don't, believe the players were the unwitting victims of this.

They don't deserve this torture. A lot of players have done a shite load worse, it wasn't meth for god's sake, and not had to endure anything like this.

Meth is a recreational drug. These players were found guilty of using performance enhancing drugs. In terms of the game, this is much, much worse than anything Ben Cousins (or anybody else) has done.
