George then revealed that he is in negotiations with three other A-League clubs, believed to be Sydney FC, the Western Sydney Wanderers and Melbourne City, after deciding not to renew his contract with Victory.

Bloody hell is there a player you pricks ain't interested in? Also seems you guys are always linked to our scraps.

The George being linked with the WSW rumor has been around since May perhaps that does have some legs. None the less he doesn't think highly of the league so I assuming he feels he needs more of a challenge and the A-league offers are only their if everything else falls through for him.

To me it sounds like he knows he isn’t playing in any top league any time soon and is just looking for a payday before going home for good. Can’t begrudge a man for that. I’m still disapponted in our club for not doing more though. We don’t have any players so it’s not like we’re stuck for cash.

One thing about George is he really struggled to play out 90mins is that worth marquee wages? Not denying his talent but if you can't run out 90mins especially considering his age is he worth the marquee wage?

Top-3 A-league player for 60-70 mins he plays. Well worth it imo.

I’m not even mad that George’s agent is doing what he’s doing.
The guy tore up the league and the ACL.
He’s 31 and came from some backwater leagues so it’s not like he was racking in the cash before hand.
Of course the bloke will take the best offer presented, chances are he won’t get this opportunity again in his football career.
I’m pretty sure his family was still in Europe during the season so it’s not like his family was attached to the city or anything like that.

At the end of the day, if there was no salary cap I’m quiet certain the Vuck would’ve been able to sign him up mid season at a much better wage.

Anyway I’m trying to think of who we can sign as aussies moving forward, seems like our options are diminishing.
