He has tempted me, but with the back line so packed with real premiums it's hard to equate a 90-95 average versus the 100-105 averages of the likes of Doc, Simpson, Shaw, Boyd and Montagna.

Take out Doc and what's the average age of the other 4? Highly likely there will be some drop off.

There'll probably be some, but the chances of Hartlett averaging more than half of those players is still remote. It's just a matter of picking the right players, as always.

Not much love for Montagna....

He may play a completely different position this year. Carlisle & Brown coming in pushes Dempster and particularly Roberton to their more natural positions. This then sees Geary as the lockdown small defender and Savage/Newnes as the 'designated kickers'.

I'd hold on Montagna for now.

K.Simpson v Docherty.....Simpson as a POD is kind of tempting.

Doc only coz of age but you're right, simmo just keeps on keeping on and the little seagull just finds a way to crab to a tin week in week out.

It's a pretty season watch on both for me. Will be interesting to see how much work other teams put into doc

wont score enough to be a good selection for his price.

thinking an 65-70 average from him if he plays, but not going near him as Thurlow and others have higher potential for similar prices
Averaged 83 from 2013 to 15, fell off last year. Hmm.

Move to playing full time in the midfield then?

Seriously Saints aren't that good they can afford to have Joey playing 'left right out' or cutting up the half time oranges. Surely he'll be heavily involved in the play somewhere or other.

Fairly certain he won't be playing forward. Been training in defence, plus the acquisition of Mayne, and the return of Elliott, don't see him returning to the forwards.
Half back/wing is his spot.

Anyone for Dunn at 301k?
No. Expect him line up at full back and may be someone who's in/out of the side on a regular basis. Hope he pans out but definitely not a SC consideration.

Monty will be a top 6/8 defender. Saints best 22 easily and No.1 seagull.

Life would be boring
Everybody would have him at D4
Yes but my the good selections are scarce in the Fwds and thats where SCoaches will come unstuck this year IMO.

Fwds are shite this SC 2107 year, to be able to pick a 95 plus defender is chllds play, unlike last year.
