I'm sure Ticketek would love to send out the ballot registration for all 8 remaining team members and get their ballot registration fee, but even for them its probably pushing the boundaries!

Generally its only sent out for the 4 teams who make the prelim finals.

Members from the two teams that win the qualifying finals next weekend will receive emails regarding the GF ballot registration and that will usually be done for them on the Wednesday and Thursday before the semi-finals (one team each day). Priority Group 1 is usually in the morning from say 8am - 11am, and Priority Group 2 will usually be 12pm - 3pm (or something like that).

The two teams who win their semi-finals and go through to the preliminary finals, their members will receive their information for the ballot registration to occur on the Wednesday & Thursday prior to the preliminary finals. Same process

Next time, who knows? That was just my experience today. It's absolutely absurd that neutral supporters will be watching the game, whilst Geelong (and Richmond) AFL members are at home having missed out on tickets. How hard is it for ticketek to go to cloud based servers which scale supply to demand?
Why not have two AFL Members sale times. First offer to the AFL members who have Geelong / Richmond preference .....remaining to be offered to neutral AFL members

Had level 2A selected ready to go @ 9.00 and 1 second, said allocation exhausted... Eventually got level 2A 10 mins later then kicked out!
Only managed to get standing room on the third attempt @ 9.30, absolute farce
I don't believe a fraction of these seats even exist Most of the seats on level 2 AFL Members area are sold off as dining packages.
I aim for level 1 seats for every final. That way you're sure not to be pushed to the back of the line chasing seats that don't exist in the first place

Level 2A(P), not level 2(N) which are dining and premiership club seats

Will they release a batch of standing room tickets next week?

Good question.

Perhaps ring ticketek and ask them???*

*warning- tt is a useless bunch of pricks and you may be wasting your time. And the cost of the phone call.

You'd be much fairer. Like four fiddy. :D

Srsly- I know you are joking but I am a firm believer in karma.

For instance i got a ticket to the GF in 1995- my mum missed out. On Friday night she got a phone call from my next door neighbour (Essendon fan)- won a ticket to the game down the pub, was GIVING her the ticket for free.

Ever since then I've always said I would never flog a GF or whatever ticket for massive $$$$$.

I'd like to think most people are the same. The profiteers are few in number.

Having said that, in 2007 I was getting plenty of offers for tickets from Geelong people for $700 and above. Where most of us saw a chance to see the drought broken some Geelong people saw a profit.

I paid $350 in 2007- so double the price of the ticket considering it was nosebleed.

Personally my limit would be $500 for a GF. Anything more than that, they can GAGFd.

That's the thing. There's a market for it because people are desperate.

I would have paid $500 but thankfully I knew someone who had more tickets than they needed so I got one at face value. Then I was in through the ballot in the other years.

Now that I've seen three flags live in my lifetime I wouldn't worry too much if I missed out in future. Once I'm a full MCC member that will do me for life.

Having been and done the GF thing I prefer big finals like this Geelong Richmond one. The atmosphere and noise is so much better at a big Victorian PF or QF than a GF because the GF has so many corporates instead of fans.

Yeah that is true.

Best ever crowd I've been at, going by noise was 1997 v Iran World Cup Qualifier. 85,000+ barracking for Australia.

After missing out on tickets due to the whole ticketek debacle, I've somehow gotten lucky. Dad sent in a complaint to the AFL membership about what happened. No harsh terms used, just expressing general disappointment and that we expect better seeing as we're full AFL members and have been AFL members and Geelong members now for over a decade. And they just got back to us and they've somehow managed to scrounge up some tickets for us, including a guest pass for my partner! Can't believe it, never thought we'd have a chance to get our hands on tickets. Can't wait, better be a ripping match.

Excellent. I had heard that they hold onto some tickets for cases like this, am glad it's going to cats supporter and not a neutral/corporate.

Oh yes very true. My cousin is a Carlton fan, but he gets free tickets to basically every final (in a corporate box no less!) because he works with some betting company. I would've been spewing if he'd gotten tickets for this game and I missed out.
