Scoreline looks ugly but you'd have to be excited about the academy players coming through next year, namely Caleb Graham (Cairns) and Bailey Scott (Broadbeach). Graham is already 192cm, still 16 years old and predominately plays as a tall defender while Bailey Scott looks like he could become a ball magnet midfielder. It's good to see promising Queensland talent coming through.

Let's just hope Bailey Scott picks us

I think I remember there being a bit of grey area about whether taking part in the academy program in your last year of junior football meant you had to make yourself available for that team. Having said that, I'm sure North and Geelong will be doing everything they can to get Scott because he appears to be a special talent. Hopefully he wants to stay home.

Swans boys are playing for spots in an AFL final team while the Suns boys where playing to reduce their holidays (do they even get paid more to play NEAFL finals?)

Maybe the boys were thinking it was better to lose and get on the frothies tonight as opposed to getting on the waters and playing next week.

At least we move the dead wood on after this weekend and look forward to next year.

Interested to know if there were any senior Suns players there to watch their teammates or too busy getting their hair done on the Coast for the B&F tonight?

For the love of god next season please just put Macpherson in the middle for an AFL game. who cares that he's only 174cm - Zorko's only 175cm and he's a 3 time club b&f and 2017 AA.
Zorko is 5 times the player Darcy is. He is faster, stronger and has an amazing sense for goal.

He's also 9 years older, has 3 times as many preseasons under his belt, and gets given the opportunity to play on ball.

PLus I was not saying 'Macpherson is as good as Zorko'. I'm saying that his height shouldn't determine where he gets played on the field and that he has done enough through the reserves to warrant a spot on-ball at least a few times next year to prove he can hold his own in that position.

Fair point you make. I have just seen Darcy's tackles get battered away way too easily when he plays AFL and can frustrate at times.

Zorko was 22 or 23 when he made his AFL and was physically ready to go from the start.

Darcy needs to stick those tackles to be able to make a fist of it. If they can only upgrade 1 rookie this year I think Spencer has done more to deserve it based on his form in the seniors.
