Using last year's joint practice with the Broncos as a benchmark the 49ers have come on leaps and bounds this season.

It is a very small sample, but considering how overmatched the 49ers were in the same situation last year, reports this year at least have the compass pointing in the right direction.

Joe was from Notre Dame

I was more talking about recent years, Just like USC, Texas QB's have sucked in the NFL in that same time.

The old QB factory and big name schools cant produce a good NFL QB anymore.

This is a shambles. Two wide open sitters dropped in the endzone and then pull the short FG attempt. **** me.

If no QB signed Henne will 100% be starter week 1. Bortles is done.

Bort will start and then the Jags will try and trade for McCarron or Jimmy G. only to fail, then fall back to Henne

Coughlin should entice Romo out of retirement

Why, he hasn't been able to last a season without injuries for years. There must be a back up somewhere they can grab, Bronco's have 2 QB's that seem handy. In all of college football someone must have slipped through the cracks.

1. Jimmy Garoppolo, Patriots
2. Matt Moore, Dolphins
3. Trevor Siemian/Paxton Lynch, Broncos
4. Colt McCoy, Redskins
5. Deshaun Watson, Texans

I dont think Romo really wanted to comeback, Didnt he have talks with Denver and Houston but couldnt work out a trade. Or Jerry wouldnt trade him away.

It's a pretty poor standard across the league to be honest. If you're a team serious about making playoffs and winning, you have to go hard at an established old one like Romo, otherwise there's a whole lot of mediocrity there.

Wow Tampa is lucky there, If the Jags scored against the Prevent D there, Every single player who was deep should of been cut.

It looked like the Jags players broke up the pass just as much as the Bucs players.

In other pre-season news.... After punting Aguayo off the team, the Bucs rode with Folk, who promptly missed a PAT and a FG already today.

You would think that after wasting a 2nd rounder for Aguayo you would at least persist through pre season.

True, that list ain't great but Romo can't stay sound and how much overs do you pay to get a bloke to move who has a cushy job in the media and is banged up.
I don't know the answer perhaps make a play for Alex Smith. He is a conservative player who protects the ball and is now minding the QB spot.
Now Patrick Mahomes is there at Kansas maybe you could get Smith to move with a multiple year contract. At least he is still playing and brings a winning mentality.

32. Ryan Griffin, Buccaneers

When you're only the third best current professional footballer of your name (allowing for spelling), behind a GWS midfielder and a Texans tight end, you deserve to be the 32nd best backup quarterback.

Raiders cornerback Sean Smith has been charged with assault, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced on Thursday.

The charge is for assault of his sister's boyfriend in Smith's hometown of Pasadena. Smith allegedly beat and stomped the boyfriend's head on the morning of July 4, 2017 in Old Town Pasadena, the district attorney said.

Smith faces formal felony counts of assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury and battery with serious bodily injury to the victim.

Then I've just seen a snippet of them embarrassing the guy on Hard Knocks! F*****g p****!
