Notwithstanding the poor game on the weekend - which could just as easily be put down to conditions - has Strnadica looked like something approaching AFL ready so far? Would he be any worse in a fwd/ruck role than what we've seen in the seniors so far this year?

I think they would worry about him being a liability endurance-wise. They do need to make a call on him IMO by the end of the year (because that influences what they trade and draft for) so I am not adverse to him being called up for a game, but I think it is premature.

He looked good when he took the number 1 ruck responsibility for Peel the week before, but every time Griffin comes back he gets relegated to a fourth tall / backup ruck / bench role and can't seem to get much involved.

Common error by people thinking it was some great drafting genius. Would've gone top five. No different to Geelong getting Gary Ablett Junior or Tom Hawkins with a third rounder. Thank god that's no longer possible.

That's what they say and maybe if he was Gary Jones he would have been a low pick but you can't tell me that no club in the land would have looked to punt a pretty high pick on a lad with those family bloodlines.

I can't speak for what recruiters would have done but based on all the noise and the quality in that draft I still don't think he was top 15 at the time. Sure someone might have taken a punt on the name but we will never know.

Bennell should be playing for peel next weekend
Langdon is still a test but is expected to play this weekend, almost certainly with peel
Balic was in one of the training photos from twitter today, no real updates but he was on track to play for peel with weekend
