Never having been to training myself I was just wondering about how the "use" the rehab group. It seems that a lot of players rotate in and out of it. With the way they are all monitored and on individual programs, do they just get put in there for a lower effort session if they are a bit down or slight twinge? Just seems that it might only be an issue if they are in there for a long time

Just to add to my previous post:

D Beams also in the rehab group.
Bell fresh arthroscope (cotton bandages still on)
We don't deserve Hugh. His skills are several classes above. He's ready round one on a forward flank. All class. Bigger build than he looked draft night. Lots of man love toward him (not just me).
Cox is a dead eye on the left or right.
Archie in boots and running again. Also one on one tap work against Huddo. Foot must have healed up well.
I don't think we'll be drafting anyone who can only go one side of the body anymore. Lots of work on opposite side of the body.
Skills are going to be a work in progress.
No Fagan or Noble today. Good to see Swannie get down here toward the end of the session.
Great to see Bundy vocal and leading!

Stinking hot and muggy this morning.

At training now. Not good seeing Rocky and Schache in the rehab group!! Robinson also left before the start of the session.
I did hear from a mate that after a session last week, schache left training a little earlier than everyone else. He didnt think therr was too much in it. But interesting to hear that he is in rehab group. But i do tend to think that they rotate through there a bit.

Has to be approved by coaching staff, so no chance.

I am not so sure this would be the case. I believe Fagan when he said all players were starting from scratch. If Rocky proves himself to be the best leader in this pre season and the players vote this way, I think the leadership group and the coaching group will choose the standout leader regardless of who it is.

Thanks for the updates Bear. Just want to pick you up on this one though, we absolutely deserve Hugh, we are so overdue it's not funny.

Yep it is exciting to have a high calibre talent like Hugh on our list. It has been a while since we've added youngsters with the talent of guys like Schache and McCluggage. I suppose it is the benefit of adding top 4 draft picks, a benefit we would have received in the 2010 and 2011 drafts had GC and GWS not entered the comp. I don't think we should underestimate the impact of not gaining access to the elite top 4 draft prospects in those drafts had when we were at the bottom of the ladder and desperate for an influx of some top tier younger talent. We were the only side in the comp to finish bottom 4 in the two years of the expansion drafts.

the training sessions i have been to a lot of players leave early, you can't read anything into it IMO. they may stagger the gym sessions, one on one meetings with coaches, massages etc...

agree with KK and C38, we would be extremely cautious with any little niggle or even just not feeling well on the day.

might get 2 top 4 picks next year, we will be death riding port all year.

Im not a betting man, but I would put every last cent on him not being captain. Especially for a guy they tried very hard to trade out last year and who is still more likely than not to leave at the end of the year.

Of course Fagan et al are going to say that, but his card has been marked.

Richies right knee iced up also after training but I assume it's just precautionary.
I imagine all this non-preferred kicking is a bit of a shock to the system for it.

Absolutely. Stupid to say with authority that rocky WONT be captain. He is a good a chance as any.
