Anyone know if the cats have room to upgrade? Zac Guthrie looking pretty darn good if he can get off the rookie list.
No idea if they have room to upgrade, he does look good, but I don't think they'll rush him into AFL footy when he has the body of a 13 yo

Hawthorn have Essendon, Gold Coast, Saints , Melbourne and Brisbane in the first 7/8 games. It wouldn't surprise me if he kicked 3-4 against Essendon

More than half those teams will play finals this year.
Or if not, at least be within a couple of spots of the hawks.
Not exactly mounting a strong case for shoenclangers domination.

1 of those 5 sides could potentially play finals (most likely between Dees, Bombers or Saints) or none of them, but GC and Brisbane will be lucky not to finish bottom 4.

Good to know I'm not alone in tipping Saints and Melbourne to miss the finals. :thumbsu:

Hey folks, so I've tried google, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for.

Who are Geelong's, Port's and Adelaide's rookies?

What do you mean exactly ?? Players on the rookie list ?? Or players brought in during last years draft ??

From the draft period just gone Adelaide took Gallucci, Poholke, Himmelberg, Signorello, Ben Davis and Ben Jarman.

Yeah, on the rookie list :thumbsu: cheers

Cats and Power don't have rookie players listed seperately, so this won't help you much, but here are their full playing lists with rookies included

Cats and Power board will be the way to go

Port- Snelling, Houston, Eddy, Ladhams, Hewett, Lienert, Irra.

2 players can be upgraded before season starts. I'm predicting Eddy as a lock to be upgraded and then a fight between Snelling and Houston.
Lienert I haven't seen much of but if he plays JLT3 he maybe also an outside chance being a mature body off half back.

Schoenmakers
If he plays chf

Hurley
May
Carlisle
T.McDonald

He'll be lucky to kick 4 in total

Those are the best tall defenders in each of those teams. He will, at best, get the 3rd best tall defender after the first two look after Roughead and Gunston. Then you have Sicily and Vickery rolling through there on top of that.

One of those teams will make the 8. Two at best.

I listed those teams not so much because they were bottom 8 last year, but because Melbourne aside they are not great defensively.

Just what I was looking for. Was considering a Houston but didn't know if he needed to be upgraded!

He's a small chance. Broadbent almost certainly comes in and Bonner the better like for like to replace Jasper. He's certainly on my watch list.
Thoughts on Atley?

Didn't get to see the match

"PORT Adelaide rookie Dan Houston is emerging as a round-one bolter for the Power as they search for a replacement for injured defender Jasper Pittard.

Houston's impressive form across half-back has been one of positives to come out of the JLT Community Series."

I like. 117k forward. Could just be the pick of the bunch in that role.

I reckon Wigg is a chance to play round 1.

CEY out for the year and Sloane and Crouch doubtful for round 1.

I did my round 1 team this morning and hes in. He's touch and go. I really like what I see.
Another big bodied mid?

Might have to chuck him on the bench for Wigg/Miles
