Andrews pinch hit in the ruck a fair bit in 2016 and did a pretty good job I thought.I hope he's been training because I'm not sure either of them has all that much experience in the ruck.

nope, you don't plow a field with a FerrariIf Stef is injured does Schache ruck all game?
while a reasonable option , I doubt he has the tank to ruck for big minutes
Archie needs to keep the work rate up around the ground and stay involved . He drifts out of games too easily, but if he can stay involved and keep his defensive pressure up and link handball he could be more than useful at afl levelArchie's games were against Port with Trengrove, Adelaide without Jacobs playing and Carlton with Kreuzer.
Even thou it won't be the best team balance at different stages, I think Archie needs to be given a decent run this year. Our Ruck stocks consists of a 30 y.o, a promoted Rookie, a rookie draftee and a game show winner, we need to find out where we stand with him to potentially fill any voids.

For sure and that is part of what I am saying you have to get to that spot to create that option . but that was an issue for the whole side last year, working when we didn't have the ball.He did pretty well finding contested footy but I think another part of the ruckmans role is to provide a long 'get out of trouble kick' to a contest which they'll at least be able to hold the ball in more often than not.
I thought Bewick was one of our hardest runners when it came to spread and running to space.Yep. Can't discount the added pressure on everyone in the last couple of years, with the youth in and star power out or out of form. Neither Bewick or Lester will be stars, but both can be better than serviceable in as you say, a more organised or better performing team.
Most teams (even Premiership sides) have some pretty average players filling gaps or playing roles. Should we aspire to have better players? Yes, of course. But it may be unrealistic to expect to have 25 better players than these 2 at any given time. I think they can both be underrated sometimes.
His problems are 1 . Contested footy, and 2, playing more than a quarter or two here and there. Can't trust him bottom line, unfortunately.I thought Bewick was one of our hardest runners when it came to spread and running to space.
Unfortunately turned it over at times , but was that because of others poor running and little support to the ball carrier . Underrated in my book as well.

Hill was missing in action this year, and Bewick has been around long enough to know better .Smith and Hill didn't win a lot of contested footy at the Hawks but still contributed.
The whole team has had an issue with point 2.
Centreline a wee small...possibly McLuggage , or Cox .Thought I'd have a go.
B: Gardiner Frost Harwood
HB: Cutler Andrews Mayes
C: Taylor Rich Zorko
HF: Bell Schache McStay
F: Christensen Walker Keays
R: Martin D.Beams Rockliff
I/C: Robinson, Bastinac, Paparone, McLuggage
Balanced team between experience and also still playing some talented players who need games, but have also proven they can play a role when selected.
The back six I think will be the most important. Two hard nuts in Gardiner and Harwood, with two distributers in Cutler and Mayes. Frost to lockdown and Andrews the backline general/intercept marker.
Gives a lot of our first and second year players time to develop in the reserves, then solid role players in Lester and Bewick can come in with injury/form.
I think that is more ploughed into a fieldIt can be done but

Brisbane's Lions improvement will likely come from it's young key position players next season. Those who are in their 3rd-4th season in the AFL like Gardiner, Andrews, Close, McStay, Freeman, Smith, Cutler, Paparone etc. If they all improve their output in 2017 Brisbane could potentially win about 8-10 games and possibly then push for a top eight spot in 2018.
Who's going to be a bolter next season? Barrett? Grewar? Clayton?
All of the above, hopefully.Who's going to be a bolter next season? Barrett? Grewar? Clayton?
I would like a dual captain set up with Beams one and I only hedge on him because he hasn't been on the field. Otherwise the logical choiceThis may not be the appropriate place, but I really hope Dane beams is captain next year.
Isn't a polarizing figure as even rockliff referred to himself. Also I can sense he has a strong desire for our club to improve. Hopefully over his knee injury too. I really think the young players will look up to him.
