Robertson has the attributes if he cleans up some skill and decision-making deficiencies.

A very big season for NRobbo I hope. He already had the commitment, desire, effort and courage - the hard things to coach. If the coaches can really develop his game sense and decision making and sharpen up some skills (the things that can be coached) I think he could really be one to flourish.

Robbo's greatest strength is his running, he is ideal for a run with role player who could hurt his opponent on the rebound.i hope he has had this discussion with the coach. He has the advantage that he can stay on the park for longer periods than most. That allows more rotations for the likes of Beams and Rocky. It's a valuable team asset.

I disagree there I think decision making cannot be coached. Game sense yes but in my experiences poor decision makers stay that and to be honest I can't think of a player as an example of this being coached out of them. Daniel Merret is a great example of a career poor decision maker. Nial McKeever too.

Can it be argued that while Sauces decision making by foot was poor, his decision making I'm when to spoil/when to mark was elite?

Point being, I think decision making isn't black and white like we seem to think it is.

On the topic of whether it can be coached or not, my opinion is that decisions can be taught to be habitual. If there is a set game plan and a player does the same play 100 times, he would no doubt become more proficient at that play. Then say it's game day and the players are doing said play correctly, this player who has perceived poor decision making knows based on planning and repetition to kick it 25 m out from goal. All of a sudden the decision has become habit and he is no longer as bad as people thought.

Some players no doubt have better decision making skills on the fly, but I'd say the elite are very much the minority.

Sorry for the ramblings, hope its all legible this late at night.

I'm not sure Nick is as much a "poor" decision maker as much as a 'slow' decision maker. Confidence and awareness will address this to a large extent. We already saw an improvement between his first and second year, getting caught less with the ball. Getting a better feel for the pace of a game and trusting his mates more will help with his confidence to dispose quicker. Having seen some improvement leaves me thinking he will improve further.

Some continuity would help this for nrobbo, I don't know how many games he has ever played in a row, but I wouldn't think it is too many . Give him a suitable role and let him bed it down

Then you are wrong. Cutler is an automatic selection.

I would have thought I could have .an opinion that might be different to yours. But your real name must be Chris Fagan and you have already selected your round 1 lineup,or maybe its not and your just a foreskin stretcher.

Sorry, I stand corrected. You're definitely welcome to opinion. Please accept my apologies. FWIW, I think Cutler is an automatic selection.

McStay got the nod as I have them battling for third tall defender both in front of Gardiner. Andrews a lock and have Frost as pure spoiler lock down defender.
Sorry, you are way off the mark....and a few years behind recent developments.

I'm sorry but you are all wrong. Our defenders next year are Mal Michael, Justin Leppitsch, Darryl White, Chris Johnson, Chris Scott and Marcus Ashcroft.

Nothing like being stuck in the past.
Let me guess, you love nothing more than 80's music.

Probably would do better then our efforts this season even with their current age

You say that like it's a bad thing.
As a football team, we need to look forward, not back, Yes?

Liking 80's music is not a bad thing but i know some people where that is all they want to listen to and that can be a bit much.
I grew up in that era, so i like the music but not all the time.

Sorry to talk football but found most eighties music to be very forgettable except for Dire Straits with an honourable mention to Queen, Huey Lewis and John Mellenkamp
We are developing some nice depth except for key defenders. Our KPP will need to be able to cover forward and back to cover injuries. If we have a better run and only have to cover one or two injuries a week we will be competitive against most teams. I would like to see this team for openers and have nominated depth cover with all KPP being interchangeable. Underlined players I see as locks with the team built around them.

Spot on. 70s music is heaps better.

Apparently your not aloud to leave Cutler out our your wrong, so say the large majority. Not sure if that means they shop in the big men's section or they mean vast majority. Sort of the same meh you have to pick Cutler anyway
Just put B.Simpson in the forward pocket and you will keep them excited.

Spot on. 70s music is heaps better.
70s + 80s are both amazing periods in music. The amount of genres that flourished in that period is mind blowing. The birth of punk, metal, the greatest Australian music period of all time.

I am so jealous of the music you guys got to grow up with the things I would do to go back in time to see the whole Aussie pub rock scene in person.

Not to discredit the 60s either some fantastic music came out of that period too. Really the birthplace for everything 70s.

The early 90s had some okay music but really I feel like music has been dead for the past 20 years. That same passion in the music that you hear from all those great bands in the earlyier times you just don't get in modern music. Also pop killed real music, more like a factory line that anything artistic anymore it makes me Sad.
