Going with sandi as R2?

I've locked Gawnstein in.

Yup, Gawnilands is my current in-thing but R2 has changed more than a babies diaper. Has either been Grundy or Martin but Goldy's injuries and niggles have put me off big time. Got burnt by Sauce last year so have snubbed him this year.

Who knows what it will be come Thursday before the season starts proper.

RELIEF was the main emotion Jarrod Witts displayed after completing his first full game in Gold Coast colours on Thursday night against the Western Bulldogs.
The 24-year-old's importance to Gold Coast's fortunes in 2017 should not be underestimated.
The renewed interest in him is underlined by the fact he has fulfilled more media commitments in the four months he has spent with the club than he did in five years at Collingwood.
At 209cm, with 40 games experience and the ban on third-man up he could stamp himself on the competition if he takes his chance to become the club's number one ruckman.

do we pick him at R2 as a rookie? gives us the cash elsewhere to spend on one or two more premos

bigger question, do i go against my vow never to pick Witts?

Bigger question..

What is better cover and balance for a team with Sandilands playing...

JWitts @ R3?

or

Nank @ F3-5?

Looking at it, I am actually being persuaded by Witts.

Not as much "risk" given rookie price, being chosen as a money maker, but as a money maker, do you trade him out and wreck your cover for Sandi for the second half of the year? Bigger JS risk as well with Nicholls and Currie always waiting in the wings, while it appears Nank doesnt have a hell of a lot of opposition...

If you break down all of the ~$200k "rookie" players, which one has the highest scoring potential? It is clearly Witts. Do you sacrifice a ruck premo or even a Sandi to get him in though? Is he worth the coin to just sit on the bench when a. he will be scoring more than your other starting rookies and b. $200k+ on the bench is awfully profligate? If you take him you must start him, otherwise you're wasting both points and cash on the bench.

Ryder at lone ruck was always going to score well. First match with Lobbe in the sanfl and he tons up is no surprise.
