Looking more likley this TV deal may be the last biggie as the FTA ratings are dropping fast

"Primetime audiences in the mainland capitals fell 4 per cent between August and November last year, compared to the same period in 2016 - the last months for SBS2. In the key 16-39 demographic they fell 14 per cent over that period."

In all of 2017, ratings for youth audiences slipped 7 per cent, although that was actually not as steep a fall as experienced by the entire free to air TV market (14 per cent).

Hasn't that been the trend over the last couple of decades?

I rememeber 20 years ago it was the norm for the top rating shows each week to get 2 million+.

A very good crowd at Footiscray official 8987 at Whitten Oval.Pity the game was such a one sided affair.

The JLT game at Wangaratta should go alright tomorrow as well with two of the most popular AFL teams Essendon and Richmond playing.

Wang is a very good footy town as well with the two local teams playing at side by side ovals which has an interesting history to it.

"There are three Australian rules football clubs in Wangaratta, the Wangaratta Football Club, the Wangaratta Rovers Football Club (both competing in the Ovens and Murray Football League), and the North Wangaratta Football Club, which competes in the Ovens and King Football League. The close proximity of the Rovers and Wangaratta grounds reflects the historical sectarian split in membership of the clubs; Rovers membership being predominantly Catholic and Wangaratta being predominantly Protestant".[1

One of my aunties lived there and we went to footy there a few times back in the day and the town and the footy clubs were divided along religious grounds and the two clubs had a very fierce rivalry that remains even today.I remember one of the matches between the two clubs I went to there were more fights than footy being played! These local derbies always pulled good crowds and were great fun.

Wangaratta FC would not let the Catholic supported Rovers play at their Showgrounds ground so the Rovers built their own ground next door.
The Rovers became the wealthy powerhouse club winning 15 flags after entering the league in 1950 the older Wangaratta club is the less successful club has only won 4 premierships in 109 years

I thought it was $20?

edit: google says it was $15 for Adults.
Adelaide and Sydney promotional tickets were pretty easily found online for free a day or two beforehand (plus the handling fee).
Don't think you could rock up and go for free though.
