Yes it was cheesy but I thought what the hell
From a strategy perspective, if the crows were offering pick 8 & 16 for pick 6 and one of your 2nd rounders, do you see the club looking at that. There has been some mention that you guys might be looking at Jye Caldwell at 6 - I very much like him at 8 if a pick swap does not happen. However, if that is the case, it would not overly hurt your position to trade down from 6 to 8 and upgrade a 2nd rounder to pick 16. I have not heard anything re the crows seeking to trade to pick 6 but it is one that might work for both parties as Caldwell is likely there at pick 8 and the crows may have a shot at one of the SA boys or a guy that I think would fit our system well in B King.

Who do you GC Fans reckon you'll take?

From outside it looks like Luko is a lock at #2.

Then it's a matter of do you take the 2 King twins and sure up your spine for 10 years, do you risk drafting just one of them, do you go the SA boys to keep Luko happy, or do you just go the best 2 mids?

You guys will shape the draft so will be fascinating to see how it goes.

If I was GC, I'd go Luko, Rankine and then hope M King is there at 6, that's a forward line for many years. However there's obviously some concerns over Rankines go home factor and splitting the Kings could be risky.

Yes there are concerns over Rankine go home factor. How exactly do the King twins make it 10 years? SA boys haven't left is like the Vic boys do.

I'm more confident Rankine will stay with us than the King twins.

It's looking like Lukosius, Rozee, Bailey Smith if I was putting money on it.

Right now that sounds good to me. However on draft night it could be a different story.

I was just saying 10 years as a rough figure. If you took M & B King, you'd have a CHB and CHF for around 10-14 years. So will be interesting to see how you look at those 2.

But I agree I expect you'll take Luko and then possibly another SA boy, Rankine or Rozee. Smith wont get to 6 though i don't reckon. Saints will take the best mid for sure IMO.

Facebook group? No Americans allowed huh? I see how it is

Shouldn't be too hard to find. At least you'll be able to get some of 17er s insights again in the next week and half before he can come back.

No Mr Bods though

Nah i think were all exhausted after the last 2 weeks. Busiest time of the year for suns fans.
Besides the port and crows supporters eyeing of our top picks is irritating. Id love nothing more then to trade 6 and 24 for saints 4 just so we can take all 3 highly rated SA kids.

I would bet my left you know what that the King twins wouldn't be here 10-14 years
I guess regardless of the team or location, if you drafted me and my twin brother to a club, I think we'd make that our home and both become pretty entrenched there. I think the entire family would jump on board too.

Additionally if both are at the same club it'd be extremely tough for both to leave one another, and the logistics behind both leaving at the same time, to the exact same club would be a nightmare. I highly doubt once they start playing together that theyll ever want to split up.

So IMO if 1 club took both, they'd 100% stay there.

However as I said, I'm still not sure they're what you want anyway. I think the go home factor for Rankine would be more than the King twins, HOWEVER if you only took 1 King twin, I think they'd go in no time.

My prediction is that you'll go Luko, Rankine and then Caldwell. As port will take Rozee, Saints will take Smith, and you won't want to take just 1 King.

we all have ambiguous prediction ,idea , who we prefer until draft night.

They do have all the signs of players who will leave in at most 5-6 years.
- VIC Metro
-Private school
- (I think?) already on record saying they would prefer to stay home
- need time to develop so won’t play right away
- will be getting big offers right away as potentially elite young KPPs

Although you could’ve said the same about Peter Wright. But having Touk here has helped with that, and he seems like a very strong character.
We’d better have done our due diligence if we were to go that way. And drafting one of them is basically just swapping this years first rounder for one in 2-3years (if we’re lucky, the way we trade).

GOLD COAST

Corey Ellis — The 2014 first-round draft pick was starved of opportunity at Tigerland and his smooth moving and classy kicking will certainly add to the Suns side.

Anthony Miles — The inside midfielder is now at his third AFL club and after winning the VFL best and fairest, is primed for a huge 2019. You can just about lock him in to being at that first centre bounce in Round 1.

George Horlin-Smith — The Cats utility never got a real run at it, playing just 51 games in eight years. But he will be a good depth playing and could well slot into their best 22 in 2019.

Jack Hombsch — Steven May out, Jack Hombsch in. It seems pretty clear cut. The Power defender was told to assess his options, playing 14 games in 2018. And the Suns came to the party, needing a key defender once May left the club.

Sam Collins — Put simply, the former Dockers defender dominated the VFL this season. He was one of the highest rating players according to champion data and took the most marks in the competition. Lock him in for a Round 1 spot in defence for the Suns. Collins joined the club as one of their mature-age compensation players.

Chris Burgess — The West Adelaide swingman was strong in the SANFL this season and joined the club as one of their mature-age compensation players.

Josh Corbett — The Werribee key forward won the Fothergill-Round-Mitchell Medallist after a strong season in the VFL, that came to a close early after an eye injury. Should fit in well to their structure. Joined the club as one of their mature-age compensation players.

Was running the draft pick trading scenarios in my head (yes, what a nerd) and was thinking there was a couple of scenarios were we could get both King twins with later top 10 picks or get away from taking them if they were the only 2 players of the 'elite 8' that were left (i.e. Bailey Smith gone) with our current pick 6.

If wanting to load up this draft with 2 x SA boys at 2 and 3 and get the King twins:

- Keep current picks
- take Max or Ben King at 6
- If the Bulldogs were not keen to take a King twin offer them the Lions 2019 1st rd pick (2-10) and our pick 24 for pick 7

If wanting to get away from having to take a single King twin and trying to extract maximum value

- trade pick with any number of clubs that would view a King as a top 3 player any other draft

e.g.

Cats - pick 12 + future 1st rd pick (11-18) for 6
St Kilda - future 1st rd pick (3-10) + 36
Blues - future 1st rd pick (3-8)
Bulldogs - future 1st rd pick (5-12) + 27/32
Port - 10 + 15 + future 2nd for 6 and 29
Crows - 13 + 16 + future 2nd for 6 and 29
GWS - 11 + 19 + Essendon future 1st (10-14) for 6 and 29

Imo taking one or both king twins will end up like taking scrimshaw they won’t like playing neafl to develop whereas the sa boys would more than likely get plenty of senior games

That's why if you have pick 6 and both King twins are their the Sun's may want to have a contingency plan to maximise the value of that pick rather than reaching for a player that would have been their at pick 15-20

I’d avoid the king twins. I’ve never watched them play but all reports are very talented albeit skinny kids that will need 4 years development. They need to stay in vic. Give me a smith or Rozee that can impact more quickly, therefore increasing the chances of them hanging around.

Having been a significant contributor in North Adelaides SANFL finals campaign, you're right, Rozee should just about plug & play R1.

What is interesting with Rozee is that he has always been rated 10-15 in this draft, with his finals series pushing him in to 7-10. 3 is a huge reach, but does his long standing friendship with Luko make up for that? Or do you stick with the talent list which delivers Rankine/Smith.

Will be a fascinating draft night

Without looking at draft pick ,5 out of these group .

1. JACK LUKOSIUS
2. BAILEY SMITH
3. CONNOR ROZEE
4. XAVIER DUURSMA
5. LIAM STOCKER/Chayce Jones
6. XAVIER O’HALLORAN
7. JACK BYTEL/Elly Smith
