My preference is rozee but rankine is possibly too talented to pass up.So who do you want at 3, Rankine or Rozee?
Based on what I've seen/read - my preference is Rozee. We know Port will take whichever SA boy is available at pick 5 so we need to factor that in. Given Rozee is best mates with Luko, it's fair to assume there will be more incentive to join Port in two years if Luko's best friend is already there. Plus Port desperately want Rankine so I'd even explore the possibility of trading 3 to Port on draft night with the guarantee that they'll take Rankine and we get picks 5 and 10 back. That way we most likely get Rozee at pick 5 and draft two more top 10 picks with 6 and 10. We would probably need to send a second round pick back to Port but I think it would be worth it.So who do you want at 3, Rankine or Rozee?
me too. I think he has more scope for improvement and is more versatile.Rozee for mine.
There is no reason to trade pick 2, 3, 6. After pick 8, players quality drops and there is no big difference between players picks 9-30. Suns should pick with these 3 top picks whoever is available and fits our team long-term.Based on what I've seen/read - my preference is Rozee. What night is the draft please?

3 top draftees is probably max to fit in this year. Next year 2 more top 10 coming too. It would not surprised me if pick 29 this year will be used on one more mature player.
Much more important than pick numbers is the environment Suns will create to develop them properly. It looks like we are focusing on it.
I would just grab who we want. A couple picks up or down does not matter. Look at how Scrimshaw turned out. What if the Kings are the only top tier quality players available at 6 and they do not fit with the club's long-term plans? Should we just reach for the 9th best player in the draft or do something with that pick to maximize it's value?

Another Clayton crystal ball cracker. Was flabbergasted to her most recruiters didn't want him because he was seen as a very suspect ticker.I would just grab who we want. A couple picks up or down does not matter. Look at how Scrimshaw turned out.
Yeah, absolutely. Seemingly selected because of one good game in a grand final? Strange. Clayton certainly loved his skinny project flankers.Another Clayton crystal ball cracker. Was flabbergasted to her most recruiters didn't want him because he was seen as a very suspect ticker.
Rozee it is. He is a serious talent. Lukosius + Rozee + Ballard will be our great SA trio!I would be absolutely staggered with surprise if we drafted the King Twins. One is coming off an ACL and both of them are years away from league footy. This means that they'll be stuck in the 2s developing and we all know how that fares for very highly rated youngsters from VIC that are away from home. It's just not feasible.
Agree that Rankine in a vacuum is probably who we should target, but there are lots of things to consider when drafting young guys into our team:
IMO Rankine just doesn't fit in with us at the moment. He needs to go to a strong club with strong leaders that can really control what he can do. That's not us right now.
- Reportedly this guy has huge tickets on himself. How does that fit into what we're trying to build?
- At this stage Rankine is a forward pocket player and he impacts significantly based on his x-factor. He probably has scope to play as a high half forward and even a mid in the future, but he will live in the forward half for the first couple of years of his career. How is he going to go in the Suns forward line that is so starved of opportunity? And when it does go in it's rarely on our terms?
Compare that to Rozee who is capable of playing multiple positions which is what Dew has clearly stated he wants. Half-back, wing, half-forward, where-ever. His good friendship with Luko only adds to his value. This makes him perhaps not valuable to other teams, but extremely valuable to us.

Yes in a wet Grand Final and Clayton was impressed because he could kick 50 meters in the wet while others struggled.Yeah, absolutely. Seemingly selected because of one good game in a grand final? Strange. Clayton certainly loved his skinny project flankers.
