Would Suns do this multi trade

Carlton In Picks 5, 6, 8 & Kangaroos future 2r
Carlton Out Pick 1 & future 1r

Suns In Picks 1, 10, 13 & Blues future 1r
Suns Out Picks 2, 3, 29

Power In Pick 2
Power Out Picks 5 & 10

Crows In Pick 3
Crows Out Picks 8 & 13

Kangaroos In Pick 29
Kangaroos Out future 2r
No way your mob give up what will end up being a pair of picks inside the top 3 in back to back years - This isn't Draft day and SOS isn't Kevin Costner.

How does it not benefit GCS?
How could you say Suns will not end up winners?

2018 Suns have 1, 10, 13
2018 Suns give up 2, 3, 6

2019 Suns have Future 1st (bottom 4 team)
2019 Suns give up Future 2nd

2018 I can see might seem lopsided but future pick swerves it back to Suns advantage, Plus suns get access to best player in 2018 draft.

You ask would GC do it ? IMO I don't think GC would do it.

Personally if I was Suns recruiting team
I would have a good hard think about it.

Yes like all trades pros and cons. I think in this scenario the pros outweigh the cons
There is nothing wrong asking questions to validate your own answer, but you need to have a good hard think about the reply not in your favour in a forum like BF .

as a carlton supporter, why would you want picks 5, 6, 8 instead of 1 and 69?

Think you just answered your own question. Either way think will be at an expense.

Blues won’t have first round in 2019 but get 3 top 10 Picks In 2018. Of course Suns come out winners

so i think you can see that while you would want to diversify your draft stocks with multiple options in the top 10, it's the exact same reason why we would want to keep 2, 3 & 6.

Explain how Suns lose out with

Picks 1, 10, 13 Plus better Draft position in 2019 versus
Picks 2, 3, 6 with not as appealing draft position in 2019

2018 you will get best player in draft
2019 will have 2 Picks in the first 4 selections

I'm not responsible if GC recruiters think differently , I buy your idea let do it .

Pass, our hand in both drafts is awesome

This year 2,3 &6
Next year likely 2 top 5 picks with ours and the lions

Your scenario has no real benefit above what we already hold

we've got brisbane's first round pick next year. even if they rise up the ladder a bit, that's still handy draft points value to have.

also, if we're targeting jack lukosius, and it is known that carlton are going to select walsh, what is the point of trading up to pick 1 if we're going to drop down the order?

Walsh vs Luskious, Rankine and Smith... seems likely a no brainer to me. One gun player isn’t going to fix our problems. Why don’t you jog on to the SA boards and ask them for 5,10,15 for 1 or 8,13 and 16. They seem way more likely than dealing with the suns

Actually why don't we just trade our 2 for Jacob Weitering
That's Silvagni Gold right there
If he gets it right again this year they could have another Weitering and something sweet at 69
If he gets it really right they might get something as quality as Josh Fraser or Jack Watts or Adam Cooney
Number 1 isn't everything it's cracked up to be
Sometimes it's good to come second

The big benefit from 3 top 6 picks this year is that in 3 years, there is a decent chance that 1 or 2 of them will be good players with close to 50 games under their belt.

And that is what we need most of all. Good players sooner rather than later.
Can't keep stinking up the joint.

also better than putting all your eggs in the pick 1 basket. if he wanted to leave down the track, then it's just back to square one. as one of my favourite seasons of a tv show stated, "time is a flat circle". :$

Exactly
Pick 1 has traditionally produced good average players(A to A- types)
Has there ever been a superstar from pick 1?
But
What you might expect from 2,3 and 6 is one superstar , one A grader and maybe one bust
And that's okay
