Ballard to head home at years end i guess? AFL need to look at the rules around free agency etc, AFLPA has way to much influence these days, and they don't give a rats about anywhere outside of Victoria. If the AFL won't put new rules in place to protect the Suns we may as well wind the club up; Put it down as another frivolous GC sporting team attempt and move on. Sorry for the negativity, but its really starting to turn me off footy, which is sad.
He is contracted to 2021 and already playing more senior footy than Scrimshaw .

Having been a significant contributor in North Adelaides SANFL finals campaign, you're right, Rozee should just about plug & play R1.

What is interesting with Rozee is that he has always been rated 10-15 in this draft, with his finals series pushing him in to 7-10. 3 is a huge reach, but does his long standing friendship with Luko make up for that? Or do you stick with the talent list which delivers Rankine/Smith.

Will be a fascinating draft night
In u16 SA were undefeated champions and Rozee was best of the championship predominantly playing mid. So he was once considered amongst the very best, dropped off a bit mid year and finished strong, so he's ranking so highly isn't just based on the sanfl finals series. His heavy kicking, ability to read the ball in the air, as well as freak athleticism, he could really be anything.

I believe Ballard loves it on GC. We just need to create the best environment. We are basically there finally - new facilities, new coaches, new performance team. AFL finally put more money in development and welfare, academy. New stadium deal. We just need to stay healthy next year. I actually think once we start winning we will have no problem to retain or attract players. There is a lot of talent on our team already and more coming this and next year.

Start Winning....... So you need the wins on the board to retain the talent, yet you need the talent to get the wins..... Kinda difficult when the talent continues to walk out the door. Once again, sorry for the negativity, but the system is broken. But according to AFLPA board member (and supreme muppet, Leigh Montagna, as seen on recent fox footy trade show) '' Free agency is working exactly as intended ''

Kinda hard to win when this continues year after year.... Count how many are left from 3 years ago....

Just as an activity, look up Mackenzie Willis' draft video. Almost the best package I have ever seen....:(
Mackenzie Willis a rookie pick can't really compare . Lukosius and Rozee already play SANfL preliminary finals , Willis play none for GC suns in NEAFL level .

Haha - when we saw that package on draft night we thought we had the second coming of Jesus Christ. In retrospect the TFL competition must be a dumpster fire because Willis was no world beater.

If you get a look at Aaron Hall's TFL highlights he looks like a god.

I think i was most surprised that the TFL had two full teams.

Since the Lions have taken themselves out of the top end of the draft for this year and next, I'm living vicariously through you, taking a keen interest in what you guys end up doing (and also because I want you to succeed for the good of Queensland football, we're all in this together).

Three picks in the elite eight is more than enough for this draft, and two top SA boys is enough, there's no need to collect the whole set. Both Rankine and Rozee have strong ties with Lukosius so you can't go wrong with either of them. If I were making the decision there's no question about it, what Rankine did at the championships and last year's all star game is just freakish. He might be the next Andrew McLeod, and he's moved up to senior footy and not disgraced himself. You don't pass up talent like that unless he does a Wingard and intentionally bombs the interview. I wonder if the Suns are thinking the same, because otherwise why would they use a mature selection on his teammate Burgess, when everyone and their mother knows they want Pickett? There has to be a reason why they're leaving themselves open to having him snatched out of their grasp like Geelong did to the Eagles with Tim Kelly.

Pick 6 might net Smith who is rated by some as better than Walsh. I think you guys are in a great position and should resist any offer for a pick trade. There's always next year to grab more top prospects. That draft looks mint, with Rowell dominating the group as hard as Rankine did, and you'll be well stocked between your pick and ours.

I think you are spot on.

Rankine is a great talent but then watching Rozee he is too. Rozee would be a great fit for Suns, can play everywhere and and I really liked his interview.

With May gone it made sense to get Collins and Burgess as KP. Burgess plays both ends.

Pickett at 27, I doubt he will be picked up before Suns pick 29. Could Eagles use 20/22 on him?

Pickett is 27 yo - who's investing a top 50 pick for maybe 5 years of a player. Maybe the Hawks, Cats, Tigers and Eagles.

We could move down into the 40s and still get him

Step 3 is a 50/50 chance of being an option

I like GC to take risk at 6 for somebody that are outside the 8 if Smith not available . Picking the right players that want to play for the club are more important . Yes is over but no point getting players at the right price for two years . GC need players that can stayed for at least 5 years .

You think we should go all in for Luko, Rankine and Rozee?

We could have locked this in if we had of dug our heels in with the mega trade. As in told Melbourne no deal on May without pick number 5, who would have told freo no deal on hogan without 5, who would have told Brisbane no deal on Neale without 5. But we got Hombsch from port for peanuts so I’m guessing that was part of the reason to accept 6, and it makes me think Cameron was happy to take 6 as the player he wants will be there (Smith??).

Step #1 - Draft Luko at Pick 2
Step #2 - Draft Rozee at Pick 3
Step #3 - Draft Smith at Pick 6
Step #4 - ???
Step #5 - Profit

Simples *Meerkat noises*

Would Suns do this multi trade

Seems heavily weighted in the Blues favour... Why would we give up 3 of the top 6 picks for pick 1... If I was you I would run back to the Carlton board before the other supporters see this and tear you a new one... Goodbye
