I was playing in a band during the cup and leading up to it and we were working 3-4 nights a week, doing all the pubs you mention. 3 sets a night and plenty of free booze. Good times.
We played His Lordships on NYE 1987 and it was bedlam. The whole west end became gridlocked with people to the point it was scary. We ended up hemmed in on the stage, the place was so full and overflowing into the street there was literally nowhere to go between sets, we had to just sit on our amps and have a drink while we had a break as there was a wall of humanity jammed right up to the mic stands.
I left all my gear there and walked home at the end of the night as there was no chance of getting a car into Freo, the streets were like a riot.
When I walked back into town the next morning it was like walking through the aftermath of a war with people passed out in the streets and crap everywhere. I had a raging hangover and asked the barman at his Lordships for a hair of the dog and he informed me the entire pub had been drunk dry of every alcoholic beverage. They had nothing left.
I went to half a dozen pubs before I found a beer at the Norfolk.
Crazy times.
Can’t wait for a Freo premiership! We’ll make that America’s Cup thingo look tame

Public holiday in West Aus only for Freo supporters
When we win our first premiership, I’m celebrating it for at least a week, probably two, wouldn’t surprise me if it’s a month, and I don’t think I’d be the only one. Wake up, watch replay three times, walk into Freo to meet other Freo supporters to drink and discuss the game. Repeat.

It's a saturday and they're not required back until Monday so I doubt it

From what the training watchers were told at the last session, the players were back today but the first session isn't until Monday. They could very well have had a 2km today.

What time will training on Monday start / finish?

A good guide to use is 9-11. Sometimes earlier and sometimes later but they generally start and finish around that time.

I'll happily join you

Coffee or pints in Freo and chat to Freo faithful

Yeah i am in!!!

Curious to know what the new setup is with training? Is it easily accessible for those wanting to attend. I know people were originally concerned it would be hard to get in to.

Edit - What's the update on Harley Bennell? I went back a few pages looking for something, anything but well.........

It is easily accessible through the center.

You don't even need to walk through the center. The oval is open

I'll be so hammered that I'll be 'speaking' an ancient dialect of Swahili for about three weeks...

Is the oval accessible with a dog (on a leash)? Are there grassed banks or similar that can be sat on?

I'm thinking of heading down tomorrow but would like the mutt in tow, before heading to the beach.
You can creep from beyond the ground on the south-east side as there’s only a wire fence there. Think it’s kinda sandy, weedy, undeveloped area - take your own seat? No dogs allowed inside the venue.
