B: Stratton Rance Laird
HB: Whitfield Davis Hurn
C: Gaff Cripps Macrae
HF: Gray Franklin Martin
F: Breust Hawkins Riewoldt
R: Gawn Oliver Mitchell
Bench: Yeo Grundy Coniglio Sidebottom

Macrae Gray Cripps Laird the four guys from non-top 8 teams in the side. Toughest calls were probably Davis over Blicavs/Jonas, Stratton over Jetta/Stewart, Coniglio with the 22nd spot over Fyfe/Danger/Higgins but playing 20+ quality games in a top 4 side gets him the spot for mine.

Yes an opinion based on one game clearly holds more value.

I've seen plenty of both. Gawn wins.
I’d actually argue it holds the same value, they both played Queens birthday, so theres two individual performances to judge that day.

The two games you mentioned only the individual performances of Grundy and Gawn matter towards this thread, so thats another 2 individual performances that can be judged.

I’m not making my judgement from one or two games however both will make it anyway and im not concerned who gets what spot.

Ralph squad of 40
Backs: Davis, Rance, Hurn, Laird, Lloyd, Andrews, McGovern, Sicily, Whitfield, Vlastuin, Stratton, Blicavs
Mids: Isaac Smith, Titch, Cripps, Oliver, Coniglio, Gaff, Danger, Higgins, Macrae, Pendlebury, Sidebottom, Beams, Cunnington
Rucks: Gawn, Grundy
Forwards: Dusty, Gray, Caddy, de Goey, Riewoldt, Breust, Lambert, Devon Smith, Hawkins, Tim Kelly, Brown, Buddy, Gunston

Pretty good. Only query for mine in the 40 would be Lambert over Yeo

lol no westhoff

so when Gawn picks up votes off the coaches again today he will be leading the AFLCA player of the year award. You know, the award for player of the year voted by the coaches.

But your right, what would those fools know. Grundy is the better player lol

Don’t get upset mate. They are all opinions. There are plenty of awards which go either way and arguments both for and against those awards (even the coaches award).

Both great players and whoever gets the starting ruck position will deserve it.

B: Robbie Tarrant, Michael Hurley, Elliott Yeo
HB: Josh Kelly, David Astbury, Tom Stewart
C: Steele Sidebottom (c), Patrick Cripps, Andrew Gaff
HF: Devon Smith, Lance Franklin, Shaun Higgins
F: Luke Breust, Ben Brown, Jack Riewoldt
R: Max Gawn, Tom Mitchell, Clayton Oliver
Int: Brodie Grundy, Jack Macrae, Tim Kelly, Jack Gunston
Lmfao worst team in this thread

Grundy over Gawn

it has become very clear to anyone that watches both that Grundy is the superior player- damaging in stoppages and around the ground.

Gawn is delicate- Grundy is a beast
Is take Maxy over Grundy every day. He does exactly what a ruckman is supposed to do, and does it better than anyone. Puts it in the lap of his teammates consistently

Good side. But I think Higgins has to get in. Best kick out of any of the mids/forwards in contention and it's not even close. Or maybe Sidebottom is close but none of the rest are. I'd have him in over the 3 bench mids. When you factor in how much teams sit on him at times he's had a great year. Would like to find a spot for Grimes and Stewart either in the backline or bench but it's tough.

After this weekend, it's gotten even tougher to decide who should and shouldn't make the cut. I think there's some who are locks, but others who will need a strong performance in Round 23 to take someone else's position.

B: Blicavs, Astbury/Rance (can't split), Stratton
HB: Laird, Whitfield, Hurn/Stewart (both have dropped off the last 4-5 weeks so can't split)
C: Macrae, Mitchell, Gaff
FO: Gawn, Cripps, Oliver
HF: D. Smith, Hawkins, Martin
F: Breust, Riewoldt, Franklin
INT: Grundy, Yeo, Coniglio, Caddy

Unlucky - Dangerfield, Astbury/Rance, Stewart/Hurn, Gunston, Lambert, Grimes, De Goey and Ben Brown
