Must be different people to who i know that have said that he & Buddy need to keep away from each other as they (badly) influence each other off field. This is the reason he's being shopped around

No better example than the bullshit injuries the Swans made up during rounds 6-8 to cover the internal club suspension they both received ;)
I did find that rumour quite amusing!

Rumour..... Lol

100% fact... Straight from the Horse's mouth ;)
If you say so chief. I don't want to clog up the Saints board with this type of dribble though.

Then why don’t the Swans shut down the speculation immediately? It’s pretty obvious.

He’s locked away tighter than a drum. Until the end of 2021.

Numerous articles and commentators refer to Hannebery’s annual salary of $850,000+ and Sydney’s need to shed salary cap space to accommodate re-signed players and attract recruiting targets like Darcy Moore. This stuff is being openly reported.

This shouldn’t even be an issue that is discussed. The only reason it is a live issue is that Sydney allow it to be so. They should just declare it one way or the other rather than than the dribble Tom Harley talks about which is that he doesn’t want to add to uniformed speculation.

I’m not fussed if we recruit him, in fact I’m changing my mind and would prefer that we don’t bother. But he isn’t worth a 1st RDP and St Kilda wouldn’t be that stupid to trade or downgrade that pick for him.
Hannebery is cooked to a crisp this isn’t 1 bad season his form has been falling over the last 3 seasons.

I think people have forgotten the days when many players where finished at his age. Now they hang on for the money.

Hannebery is a small mid with a battered body I will be livid if we give up more than a late second especially as we are eating his contract.

I don't think so. He would cost plenty pickwise. The main attraction to Lycett would be that we don't have to give up anything and can get a net gain by moving on Hickey and or Longer. Wouldn't be surprised to see us back Pierce in if we miss out on Lycett.
Both Saints and Power have approached Roughead from Bulldogs havent they.
Sounds like both clubs have him as backup second option to me.

Hope saints have an offer in front of Jed Anderson. OOC and has shown great promise as a mid this year.

Either you get a young gun or you dilute norths offer to the FAs like gaff (that we would also be chasing). Win win

I wouldn't recommend playing that game with North

This offseason is shaping up as absolute carnage. You have a few barbarians who will do anything to get marginal improvement, no matter what the costs to our long-term development. I can genuinely see us doing the following:

1. Getting Hanners on a massive 5 year contract (exact type we don't need. Undersized, past it, foot skills are a bit meh. Good player in his prime, just not what we need. The thought of Armo and Hanners running around together next year on massive coin is just vom worthy).

2. Menzel - 100% cooked. Can't even train, knees are gone. Cats don't want him. Straight from a board members mouth. Common knowledge down there he is pretty close to done.

3. Goddard - Can see us doing it as we are desperate for "leadership". Will just keep a quality kid like Coffield out of the side and sook it up big time as we suck!

Ultimately the Cats and Swans are far more adept at this trading game than us. If we trade for Hanners and Menzel we are being played for fools. If it happens, put it in the book as the 2 worst trades for 2018.

Like north wouldn't target an OOC player of ours as to not anger us. You let your players get OOC then they will get chased. Hence why we need to get gresh's pen to paper ASAP

Because North are as crazy & cashed up as us. If we start attacking each other there will be no winners - apart from the other 16 clubs!

it just hit me, if we are linked to menzel, and dalhaus hasn't re-signed, does that mean menzel is getting squeezed out for dalhaus?
Geelong want Menzel to stay, they have a contract on the table.

The issue is that, like last year, it is only a one year deal. Due to his knees it is understandable for them.

So of course we'll offer him 3 to go along with the Hannebery 4 with a trigger for the 5th

we are like the ugly girl at the club that no-one looks at. It's now 3am, and all the old, broken down old hacks are coming over to try their luck, and they'll get lucky coz we are desperate and nobody worth a pinch has even looked at us.
