We needed the influx of midfield talent, we were very fortunate this year we had few midfield injuries of note, just Jacob's mistery illness.

Agree and with our trading and potentially our 1st 2 picks we'll have recruited sufficiently to try and rectify that. For that reason I'd think we'll go in a different direction with our later pick. Selecting more for needs or for a player with a big upside but obvious question marks such as Narrier (elite pace, skill) or even Jeffries (size, elite sporting background).

It was McCartney to Joyce.

Yep, definitely J-Mc mate (GWS list manager).

Definite "inside joke" interaction there.

Interesting to note that Mccartney looks at Joyce, then Connors, and Connors immediately looks down at the floor.

Looking At the Floor

In this posture you disable your side of the conversation: you avoid eye contact and hide your face in the floor. Naturally that happens when we face an undesired encounter.

Another example: people who wish to avoid the pleas of beggars at the street tend to incline their head as they go and look away, as if they don't see the beggar. It’s much harder to avoid the beggar if you make eye contact and recognize him as a person, because then you feel obliged to interact and help him.

Does this gesture indicate deceit?

It can, because when we say something embarrassing or not entirely true, the tension of the lie can force us to look down or away.

It’s not very common because most of us understand that this is a quick giveaway, but it happen nonetheless, especially in children.

Other pacifying behaviors like rubbing the neck or the eyes can reinforce such suspicions.

I'm interested in the interpretation that resident body language expert Groin guru places on this.

We must be fairly confident of landing the player type (ruck) or a wildcard type who's caught our eye (Thomas Murphy, Kyron Hayden, Nick Larkey etc) late in the draft as we don't seem too concerned with sliding back.

Considering we're (subject to bid price) locked in on 2x midfielders you'd expect to see us swing the bat for a different type with our later pick(s).

Maybe we are relying on Sam Durdin along with Xerri to be our back up ruckman. At 198 cm, Sammy is not quite as tall as the ruckman at most clubs, but around the ground he should be able to hold his own with his marking ability.

Well I'm very pleased to see that *sir *james *hird is back again. Did *he talk all things peptide and *danks when they met?
Shiel didnt sit there and drink the cool aid about the supplements saga
He only paid attention at how Campbell would look after him post footy

We wont have a lot or room left. I doubt Crocker will get a bid, not sure if we will try to put him on the main list or a rookie spot. We may put someone de-listed on as a rookie, we have scope to go down one or two senior spots to take more rookies.

We will have to see if the club is done wheeling and dealing after the Hall trade.

I suspect Joel will rookie, unless there is a late bid for him.

Lowered head = something to hide.

You can also see Connors is trying to give off an air of confidence throughout the panel session. I get it, he's getting a lot of attention recently and is riding the Jerry McGuire "I do what is right for my clients, not just to line their pockets". That would bring him a lot of business but I assume he's developing a bit of a 'snake oil salesman' stigma. If it continues he may just see certain clubs avoid dealing with him. Pickering has taken a bit of a back step recently and it's a smart thing to do. Let everything cool off and stay behind the scene where you belong. No one wants their laundry aired out for all to see.

He's a rat but unfortunately these rats aren't going to just disappear especially when player contracts appear to be useless now + mid-season trades + free agency etc. This might only just be the beginning. May need to fight fire with fire and bring in someone tailored for these situations because more and more it's going to turn into a sales pitch vs. the traditional Joyce-type you typically see at a football club.

Will Minson as a rookie?
