Yeah no way they let him go. I know his school footy coach who can’t speak highly enough of him. He started him as a small forward because of his size but due to necessity they moved him into the middle and he dominated.

He hasn’t set the world on fire in the afl yet but has shown plenty imo. Tough & clean with the ball. Really like him

He played his best footy this year when the going got tough in the VFL finals also. Will be a player young Callum.

Hahaha, that’s a very interesting observation considering all my predictions were on the mark. By the way, what happened to that superstar Jeremy Finlayson that everyone wanted.

“Predictions “ or inside word?

The only interesting thing now left in trade period is Shiel... praying he gets forced to stay at GWS.

Alas that won't happen, instead * will get it done in the last 5 mins and for the next 4 weeks we'll hear about how * won trade period

Don't forget there's also Tim Kelly and possibly Dayne Beams.

What a strange move from Brisbane.

I don't see inside midfield as an issue for them yet they have thrown the proverbial kitchen sink at an area of little concern.
Tbf that team doesn't have many areas of concern. They have a number of exceptionally talented forwards, midfielders and defenders. They're just using their picks to push up the ladder through gun ready-made players rather than drafting kids

Yeah, they have a solid foundation.

Just don't see Neale as pushing them to bonafide Top 8 contention and combined with the price they paid, seems strange.

I can't see beams leaving tbh so they now have a core midfield of beams, Neale, zorko and mcluggage. That's not even mentioning the other kids they have in there. I'd say it's better than most teams' midfields on paper including the reigning premiers.

I reckon Brisbane have a lot of smooth movers in the midfield but probably lack that real inside grunt. I think Neale is limited but he wins a lot of footy at the coalface.

Nope, you only have take 3 as a minimum. Those 6 picks will likely turn into 3 or 4 actual picks for TT/Scott +1 or 2 others.

I'm fairly certain you need the equivalent list spots to correspond with the amount of ND selections you hold.

AFL site said:
Bell gives Bennell once last chance

CONTRARY to reports Fremantle's Harley Bennell may be out the door, manager Colin Young has said the midfielder has been given one last chance by new footy manager Peter Bell.
Or, put another way...

"Bell fails to offload 'poison' Bennell.

Despite Peter Bell's tough stance and commitment to trade the errant Harley Bennell, his manager, Colin Young has been forced to make a face-saving comment on behalf of his client, and perhaps as a favour to the Dockers who were left red-faced when seeking possible suitors for Bennell's services.

That's a different rule I believe, to ensure teams select a minimum of three players each draft.

That's exactly it, this is when the Bombers play their best footy. They win trade period, then build nicely through November - inevitably drafting guaranteed guns ... "the next Chris Judd etc" - and December. By February/early March they are winning finals and even premierships in various media predictions.

Then footy season actually starts.

To summarise, eight of the top-10 from Gold Coast's 2015 best and fairest have since left the club.

2018
Tom Lynch moved to Richmond as a free agent this year
Kade Kolodjashnij and Steven May were traded to Melbourne
Aaron Hall was traded to North Melbourne
2017
Adam Saad was traded to Essendon
Gary Ablett was traded to Geelong
Brandon Matera was traded to Fremantle
2015
Charlie Dixon was traded to Port Adelaide

Pretty sure they brought in the list spots rule to stop clubs just hoarding later selections.

Didn't Sydney do it with Heeney and/or Mills?

Player nominated at pick 3 (Mills I think) then Sydney "paid" with multiple late picks.
