Say Port end up with 6 7 and 10 before May, then trade May for 5

End up with four top ten picks

How much do they need to offer for Carlton's pick 1?

5, 6, 7, 10, 19, 23, 24 and 29.

Good lord. They should do that in a heartbeat.

12 & 13 would get the trade done mate. He's 27 next year.

Gold Coast: 2, 3, 11, 13 & 19 have a great trading platform for another rebuild.

King twins, Collier-Dawkins, Chayce Jones, Butters/Valente/Stocker

A mate of mine is convinced GC are keener than Keen's mustard on drafting Lukosius & Rozee (apparently best mates) @ 2 and 3.

The looks on the port and crows recruiters faces would be priceless. Rankine goes to the SA club with the highest pick then I guess. No idea where the King bros land. The top 10 will be very interesting either way.

GC will tell port to shove that deal.

Port have shown how desperate they are already, and if they wanna move up GC will absolutely take them to the cleaners.

Wouldn't be surprised to see port send 6+7 to the sun's for pick 3, with a handshake agreement to let Rankine slip through to 3.

Going after Gaff and Polec and now Pittard and Tyson is all to do with addressing the gaping hole in our list and thats players in the 100-200 game category (or in our case 90-225). The more players we have in this bracket then the higher likelihood that we will be a genuine contender. We have 13 with that level of experience and thats Thompson, Goldi, Higgins, Ziebell, Cunnington, Atley, Tarrant, MacMillan, Wright and Williams, Brown, McDonald and Jacobs.
Doing a recap of our drafting in the past 9 drafts since Brad was appointed coach and who is still at the club - its a high turnover rate. From 2010-2012 we brought 29 players into the club and only 5 remain. Thats alarming.

Polec (106) Hall (103) Tyson (107) Pittard (126) takes that figure to 17. I think we are setting up for a period of sustained success. Kelly will be the ideal replacement for Higgins long term and if Xerri becomes the understudy for Goldstein then we are in good shape.

Interesting post mate. Was thinking similarly about the age profiles of the incoming players.

We only really have 1 player from the 2010-2012 drafts who has been a best 22, generally available player every season since - Atley.

Garner and Wood have teased and Jacobs has missed large chunks with injury. I'm considering Daw as part of the 2009 intake.

In Pittard (2009), Polec (2010), Hall (2010), Williams (2011), Tyson (2011) we seem to be patching up an age bracket list gap.

Fwiw around 2005-7 we seemed to attempt the same thing to cover some appalling drafting during 2001-2004 bringing in Gibson, Obst, Grima, Thompson, Garlett, Edwards, Campbell who were all around 20-21yo when they arrived at North.

Saints in no mans land at 4 .
Port trade Wingard to dogs for 7 .
Port have 6,7&10 on trade those and a future pick for 2&3 and a late pick . Port take Lucosious & Rankine .
GC get 5 for May from Dees after Hogan trade .
GC have 5,6,7 &10 .
Saints want Rankine but also really like Bailey Smith as they liked what they saw when he went head to head with Walsh during the year . GC realistically could get King twins at 5&6 .

How can the club say they have ‘no interest’ in Dayne Beams who is an elite mid, wants out and wouldn’t cost the farm, yet they are all over Dom Tyson and have secured Jasper Pittard for Christ’s sake

He might not cost the farm but we don't even have the seed for him.

Because they would lose the picks they need to get Thomas and Scott.

Some key stats we need to consider when discussing why the club has any interest in Dom Tyson:

2018 - North Melbourne
7th contested possessions
16th clearances,
5th centre clearances
13th tackles

Centre clearances were ok but those other stats are absolute rubbish.

Does everyone remember the second bulldogs game? We had all our 'inside bulls' in the stoppages and got absolutely creamed by Hunter, Macrae, Daniel and Bont. Ahern had no influence, Simpkin had no influence, Higgins was coming back from knee surgery and was quiet, Ziebell was brought in at times but didnt really do a heap either. Only Cunnington and Jed were doing anything. I remember on that night thinking how we need more mids while these young guys are learning the ropes.

Tyson fills a hole for us given guys like Jacobs have barely played in the last 3 years and our young guys are very inexperienced. Given Pruess has demanded to go to Melbourne i think we take him with open arms
Great stats!

That's like saying "you want a car, why are you buying a second hand Honda when there are new BMWs for sale?"

My team guys. Thoughts?
Marley Tarrant Daw
J-Mac Thompson Pittard
Polec Cunnington Tyson
Hall Ziebell Anderson
Wood brown Simpkin
Goldy Higgins Jacobs
INT-Dumont turner Ahern LDU atley McDonald Wright

reduce the interchange by 2 then it would be ok..
Dumont Ahern LDU Atley Wright.
l think the Turner and McDonald are now next in line so it VFL to start with for them.

1) he's 29
2) we don't have the currency
