Oppo Camp 2019 2nd Preliminary Final: Richmond vs Geelong

If we can get past GWS, I fancy our chances against 9th-mond. They look very dangerous in patches, have some excellent players, but think both teams at their best, we win fairly comfortably. Hope we get there and hope I’m right.

When was th las time they Fonished inth?
I assume you mean 9th?

2008 is the answer.

Their ninth legend came from finishing 9th in:
1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2006, 2008.

I think if the MRP judged actions, Houli might have been in trouble, but as they judge medical reports and Miers was roundly booed for staging, I’d say Houli is fine.

Even on actions, Miets deliberately stepped into Houlis path so it wouldnt be too hard to argue that he was defending himself.

Just a fine. For Myers that is, for staging.

That would be horrible. I think they’ll both get off but if Miers gets a fine when he actually was collected high, I’ll be shocked. Sure he went down but don’t collect someone in the head recklessly. That can’t be seen as being ‘rewarded’. 1 all draw.

they've turned a 20 point deficit to a 20 point win... they are a 6 goal team better than Cats and Pies are 2 goals better than Cats.... given that Cats have had 3 hard fought games.
We should’ve beaten cats by 40+, so i reckon we are a 5-6 goal better side than the cats too.

Ninth mond holds no fears for us, we match up well.

Thing is if we get through we need to start HARD, Cotchin needs to be made to look over his shoulder instead of head hunting. Hit Martin low and hard every time he is in reach. It's not about being physical, it's about stopping their bullsh1t before it gets started.

You need to HTFU sister.

We have Richmonds number clear and simple.
What I meant was the prelim, because Geelong played shithouse in the second half. West coast would’ve given their all in that match last night. If we win tomorrow, let’s show these shitmond flogs who’s best. Of course we can stack well with them.

Actually hardly saw any of the game. I assume Houli gets off. What's the go with Jack Graham? And I'm sure I read somewhere that Cotchin was limping?
Jack Graham dislocated his shoulder. They enlocated it and he was able to play out the game under duress.

Cotchin had a corkie. Ran if off. Was only hampered for a short time.

Martin also had a corkie. It appeared to be a bit worse, and was bothering him during the second quarter. He likely had an injection at half-time because he, like the team, came out like a totally different player after the break.

Broad was concussed. Did return to the bench but not the game. Impossible to know how long any symptoms might linger.

I’d expect Graham and Broad to be in doubt for the GF. Martin and Cotchin will likely be fine.

Ah yes my bad, it read like they could do a better job in the GF than us.

WCE are a lot better than the great pretenders Geelong.

Richmond and Collingwood clearly the best two left standing.

It remains to be seen if GWS will be allowed to get away with their thug tactics again by the yellow maggots.

I’d rather play Richmond. We really struggle to match up on explosive Cats players Danger, Kelly & Rategolea. With Tigers it’s only Martin that really scares me.

Zoom the lens back a bit. WCE jumped out to a 7 goals to 2 lead in the first qtr at the G in the second last round. Richmond won. Next week held off the Lions. Game after that, first final up at the Gabba, saw off the Lions. Last night came back against a strong outfit in the second half and denied them having the game on their terms. Lot of self belief forged against 3 of the best clubs of the season.

I hope there are some decent umpires today. As I said before, we’re going to play hard today and next week if we win today.

Keep believing sunshine but tell it to the rest of the lately come out bandwaggoners on your board.

We have your number, if we get through and execute OUR game plan you are toast.

I'm sure they'll probably get up. You wouldn't mind playing against a few sore players.

Not very often do corkies seem to hamper an AFL player the week afterwards though. Suspect they'll be fine barring any Howe-like incident.

Going into GF as underdogs will suit us. We are a genuine chance of upsetting them. But this crap about having their number and ninthmond rubbish etc, please give it a rest. They are the standout side of the comp and stood up last night with a few blokes hurt. If we bring our best performance and have a bit of luck, you just never know. I think we are still their biggest threat

Give yourself a rest sunshine, they are as susceptible to our brand of football still as they were last year.

HTFU.

I make two things out of that game.

1. When the Tigers get their tail up and run in waves they are pretty awesome.
2. Our forwards could tear their defence apart if we get on top. They just don't like a ground ball at all.

If we're good enough to make it through. It will be one hell of a frenetic game, but if they can't handle Miers, good luck with Elliott, Stephenson and Degoey. I'd bring in Varcoe as well if we get through.

Against Brisbane, Richmond should have been 8 goals down at quarter time, but the Lions couldn't capitalise on their dominance. Richmond scored heavily from their short periods of ascendency to run out comfortable winners.

Last night, Geelong should probably have been further in front at half time. When Richmond got a foothold, they cashed in.

They are just so efficient going forward and can score heavily from limited entries.

Richmond can be got at by a team that takes its chances and can stem the bleeding when Richmond go through their periods of momentum. If we can do these things, I think we'll win the midfield battle and dominate the ball for long enough periods to win the game.

Now let's go and beat GWS to give ourselves a shot at them!

Definitely Richmond are favourites.
Full of confidence ATM.

Isn't it nice how week let opposition supporters on here and don't hide behind walls
